best training: Just send me the Bill!! - 05/29/09 03:19 AM
Let's see, we've got 700 BILLION for the financial institutions and markets. Then there is 17 Billion for the auto makers. Both mismanaged the business they had and "we" the taxpayer now have to bail them out for the good of the whole economy. Well, how about the folks that had a good or in some case a great business plan and got the living crap kicked out of them because of the industries we are now bailing out. Guess what ladies and gentleman, none of that money will bail you and me out. It amounts to building another chicken house … (2 comments)

best training: Push yourself! - 04/28/09 03:44 AM
Do you just exist or are you pushing yourself to succeed and achieve? Everyone at some time in their life feels like they are just existing or in other words they're in a rut. At times this can be comfortable and cozy but, is it really what you need? I know if everything is comfortable and cozy I am in trouble. My late father used to say "do something, even if you do it wrong". I generally live by the axiom that if it feels good and goes according to plan it's against company policy. Nobody ever got off the couch … (5 comments)

We have all heard about the Seven Wonders of the World. Can you name them? Today there are so many things that the discussion gets wide open very quick. I have way more than seven and they cross over from ancient to modern and even man made. I will give you my top seven and then move on to what I consider the seven wonders of the business world.
The Great Pyramids in Egypt.
The Great Wall of China.
The Grand Canyon
The Internet
The Dead Sea
The Rain Forest
The Northern Lights

best training: You have a choice. - 04/27/09 10:45 AM
I have a question for you. How do you wake up every morning? Are you a grouch? Or, are you happy and ready for a great day? You do know you have a choice, don't you? I choose to get up and welcome the day and you should to.  You can do more business before 10:00 AM than you realize.  So make a positive choice and you will beat the competition every time. If you make a positive choice every chance you get during the day you will continually beat the competition month in and month out.
 Always remember

best training: No fear!!! - 04/27/09 09:50 AM
What are you afraid of? Can I tell you a secret? We all have fears and phobias in life. As young babies we have no fear.  Everyone looks out for us and says; "don't or that will hurt", so you develop fears and worst of all hesitation. I have always tried to conquer anything I am afraid of. One thing I have witnessed and admired in all successful business people is the fact that fear of failure never enters their mind. They simply do not process fear in a way that most people do. Most successful people think like that young child … (2 comments)

best training: You Must Have a Plan - 04/14/09 09:53 AM

You would never set out on a trip or a journey of any length without a map, plan or an itinerary of some kind, right? So, you can't change yourself from your very core without a map, plan or an itinerary either. This is not a theory, it is an irrevocable fact. To affect any kind of meaningful and healthy change in you, one must have a plan and refer to it often in order to stay on course. Your plan must have daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and five and ten year objectives or goals. They must … (6 comments)

best training: "distractions are what happen when you take your eyes off your goal" - 04/14/09 09:24 AM
Henry Ford once said "distractions are what happen when you take your eyes off your goal". I think it is truly profound in its accuracy. Don't you?  As a winner you will need to constantly make adjustments as your business grows and prospers. But never lose sight of the goal you have set for yourself.
Remember to keep focused on the ultimate goal. It is amazing to me that when you keep your goals in site how the the little problems just go away.

best training: Service after the sale, means Sale after the Service!!! - 04/14/09 08:46 AM
When is the last time you got your hands dirty? I mean literally dirty? I had an occasion to witness something and carry the experience with me to this day. I did a transaction with an agent one time that had a buyer that loved rose bushes. Her closing gift was 3 very nice rose bushes. After closing when most agents are running to the bank to get the cash, this agent went to the couples new home and took out a pair of cotton gloves and a small hand spade as well as a bag of miracle grow potting soil. … (8 comments)

best training: "It's always darkest right before it goes completely black." - 04/14/09 07:42 AM
"It's always darkest right before it goes completely black."
                                                                           ~Terry Miller

Have you ever wondered how some people even survive with the attitude they poses? You know the type. They're the one that if they won the lottery, they would complain about the taxes. I will give you some advice about people like that. Run, I mean run away from them as fast and as far as you can. Negative people thrive on the destruction of other people. Your business life depends on you being ready and positive at all times not down and depressed. Never wish anyone … (4 comments)

best training: Have fun! - 04/14/09 07:33 AM
"If it's not fun, I'm not going to do it"
                                                                              ~Terry Miller
I am assuming that if your reading this you are in the real estate business and it's because that's what you chose to do. If I could give you one piece of advice it would be to figure out what your passion in life is and figure out how to succeed financially at it. I absolutely love having a real estate business and think motivating and training new Realtors is some of the most fun anyone can have. I feel rewarded everyday that I can help someone improve … (0 comments)

best training: Have a vision. - 04/14/09 07:14 AM
The idea for the vision board I created came from the book and the movie called "The Secret". If you haven't read or watched the Secret I recommend you do so at your earliest convenience, you owe it to yourself, trust me. The Secret helped me use more of my mind in a positive and constructive way. It encourages the positive visionary side of your personality. I have found some people who don't believe in the findings or training the secret encourages and you guessed it. They are generally negative and short sighted. It took me almost forty eight years … (2 comments)

best training: New position, thanks to all involved. - 04/13/09 01:25 AM
As most of you know, I love to train, recruit and motivate Realtors and business professionals.  Since about January, I have been looking around the entire country for a perfect opportunity to do, just that for Keller Williams. Well, with the help of Steve & Dee Dee Trosclair, as well as Christi Scroggins, I accepted the Team Leader position in Tyler, Texas. Christi is the current TL and wants to go back into production and spend some time with her two children. This created a great opportunity for me. I would like to thank everyone involved for the great trust they … (8 comments)

best training: It's be a winner time! - 04/09/09 03:29 AM
There are no classes in life for beginners: right away you are always asked to deal with what is most difficult.                                                                        ~Rainer Maria Rilke

Did you know you have a choice every morning? You and only you can decide the mood or attitude you will have that day. Remarkable isn't it? I don't care if the kids are fighting or if your loving spouse left a towel on the bathroom floor. It's your choice to either laugh about it or blow a gasket. If I could give a small piece of advice, choose to laugh it off and be … (5 comments)

best training: Focus - 04/08/09 01:13 PM
You see I need total chaos in order to function in the business world. I like music and things coming at me fast. My beautiful wife Denise says I like working with my hair "on fire" and to be honest, she's right. My desk is always a wreck and I am always working two or three business deals at a time with the different businesses we own. The one thing that is consistent though is the routine and the business plan we have in place. Make NO MISTAKE I get things done systematically and effectively. It just doesn't look like … (5 comments)

best training: "If you are given a sense of purpose, recognize it, then accept it." - 04/08/09 01:01 PM
"If you are given a sense of purpose, recognize it, then accept it."
~Terry Miller
I talk often about having a passion for what you do. If you add the passion you have to a purpose, all of a sudden you have an unbeatable combination for success. An example of this is the fact that I have a passion for recruiting, training and educating. The purpose of which is, to make as many people successful as possible. In helping as many people as possible, I believe I will have personal growth and rewards.
Simply put, having both a passion and purpose … (3 comments)

best training: I had an interesting call last week - 04/08/09 12:59 PM
I had an interesting call last week. It was a REALTOR in a market that has had a dramatic "shift" and according to this individual was off by almost 40%. Short Sales and Foreclosures dominate the market and the attitude of the asset managers had gotten this guy down to the point, which I think he might have been looking for a bridge to do a Tinkerbelle off of. Before I go on, let me tell you he is OK and will be great very soon. So don't worry. A thirty minute call turned into two 1 hour plus calls. … (4 comments)

best training: You are a REALTOR! - 04/08/09 02:59 AM
If you could open a business that had low overhead and very little expense over what you have already paid out, would you be interested? Advertising is minimal and often times shared. You can do it from home or an office if you desire. You can take the kids to school and pick them up if you want. You can make 6 figures with good "smart" business models that are of virtually no cost to you. If done right there free and given to you in abundance with great joy by the giver. Want a bigger business for the same investment … (2 comments)

best training: Set those goals big - 04/08/09 02:24 AM
Are your business goals big? I mean, really big? With all of the formulas and plans available today, we should all have goals and dreams bigger than ever. Look, the people who have came before us in the Real Estate world have left a road map. They stepped on the land mines and turned down the dead ends, so we don't have to. Think of the time we can save and even more amazing the sanity we can keep. Now don't for one minute believe, you can't be you. That's the great thing, you are free to be you more than … (2 comments)

best training: Live today. - 04/06/09 08:29 AM
Every day we are faced with decisions and challenges. I find the more I face my challenges, the less they become challenges. Instead they become opportunities to be the very best person I can be. You see we are given a finite number of seconds on this planet in our human form. One problem, we don't know the number. As many of you know, I am a true believer in living every one of those seconds to their fullest. Do I have regrets in life? YES! (A couple of really big ones, to be honest.)  But who am I to question … (5 comments)
