homes for sale: Buy local and know who you’re dealing with! - 06/06/14 05:14 AM

Buy local and know who you’re dealing with!  Competition is a good thing and we have an abundance of it in East Texas. As the Real Estate market heats up we are seeing a familiar trend raring its head again. Builders from Dallas and other areas coming into our area to build. You see, when you deal with a local builder you know which ones pay their subs and suppliers and build a quality product. When we have builders coming in from smoking hot markets to build here, alarms start going off in my head and I ask why? … (0 comments)

homes for sale: Remember the integrity of the deal! - 02/19/14 03:10 AM
Homes in Tyler Texas are moving and we have an old familiar problem. Agents who don't do much finally getting a customer and agents forgetting they aren't the deal, their customer is. It seems that every week now we have an agent get in the way of a deal going thru. I had a seller call me from another agents listing that one of our agents had tried to work a deal on. I told the guy that he had an agent and should speak to her. He wanted to know why we quit negotiating on his property and I told him he had … (6 comments)

homes for sale: What does a rise in interest rates mean to the housing market? - 08/12/13 10:16 AM
What does a rise in interest rates mean to the housing market? I for one think it will stabilize the market to the point that more loans will occur. No, I’m not on drugs, just hear me out. There are trillions, yes I said trillions of dollars in private money sitting on the sideline just waiting to jump in. There are two main reasons that they haven’t already. Number one is, super low interest rates don’t offer a good enough return on their money and number two is you can’t mitigate losses with low interest rates. With interest rates at 3.5 … (2 comments)

homes for sale: Just a few thoughts..... - 03/26/13 11:51 AM

Just a few thoughts:

I have known for a great while that changing anyone’s mind is impossible and if you think you have, you can’t trust that individual.  With everything going on in the world today the greatest concern is the worldwide attack on wealth.  Cyprus is being watched by all those in power around the world. The seizing of depositor’s money is a test case for things to come on a much larger scale. The banks had the money available to leverage and yet not enough could be made to sustain massive social spending and waste. Thinking their … (2 comments)

homes for sale: No More Big Corporate for me! - 03/18/13 07:17 AM
No More Big Corporate for me!
Wow, I have the feeling that I should have done this a whole lot sooner. The fact is, that being independent is hard work, but so much better that paying a franchise fee. I never felt the office ever got it's 6% back in services and now I realize that's exactly correct. There is a great place in our business for the  big box franchises, but in a medium size market being 100% locally owned is the way to go. In 30 Days we have given more back to the community than all of last year … (68 comments)

homes for sale: Does your agent answer the phone? - 03/15/13 05:53 AM
Does your agent answer the phone? Odds are, no! If you're looking for a forclosure, good luck getting a call back or any service for that mater. Agents have increasingly abandoned good business tactics. You have a right to demand good service and if your agent is not giving you great service, fire them! A home is the largest purchase you may ever make and if the sales person dose'nt care enough to do their job call some one who will.
