homes in tyler texas: Yep, you're a real pro! - 06/07/14 01:28 AM

Yep, you're a real pro!
You don't answer your phone and your voice mailbox is full and has been for as long as anybody knows, but you will show up and get your check after we do all the work.
Does this happen in all markets? OK, I'm just kidding, I know it does and I know we all wonder how these type of agents stay in business.
The office got a call the other day because we have some lots listed in the same area and one of these agents couldn't be bothered, for a lot. Two hours later we … (4 comments)

homes in tyler texas: Are you looking for trees in your own forest? - 05/12/14 06:09 AM

Are you looking for trees in your own forest?  I own all the real estate how to books and read about the new latest and greatest how to get more sellers or buyers from time to time.

However, I am finding that looking at other successful businesses totally unrelated to real estate gives me some fresh ideas or in many cases confirms some I may have already. You see as a small business owner, I feel it’s always my job to look for fresh ideas that can give our team an edge in the market.

homes in tyler texas: What’s your hobby or hobbies? - 05/02/14 04:58 AM

What’s your hobby or hobbies? Yard work? Fishing? Hunting? Golf? You name it, this is the time of year to get outside.
For me it’s golf! I love the smell of fresh cut grass (that I didn’t mow) and the feeling of being outside with some good friends and add to that chasing that #$%&^% ball all over the place. I do a lot of business on the golf course for Miller Homes Group and I get to enjoy myself in the process. I don’t take it as serious as I used to so some days I break par and … (2 comments)

homes in tyler texas: Can you believe it’s almost May? - 04/23/14 07:05 AM

Wow, what a start to the year! Can you believe it’s almost May? Real Estate in Texas is like no place else right now. Miller Homes Group has offices in Tyler and Longview Texas and is expanding because of great agents and a market that never crashed as bad as most did around the country.  After years with the “big corporate” franchise, it feels good to truly have an agent centered company that thinks about community.

We learned a lot from the franchise, but never truly felt we got our money’s worth and therefore felt we failed the … (5 comments)

homes in tyler texas: Remember the integrity of the deal! - 02/19/14 03:10 AM
Homes in Tyler Texas are moving and we have an old familiar problem. Agents who don't do much finally getting a customer and agents forgetting they aren't the deal, their customer is. It seems that every week now we have an agent get in the way of a deal going thru. I had a seller call me from another agents listing that one of our agents had tried to work a deal on. I told the guy that he had an agent and should speak to her. He wanted to know why we quit negotiating on his property and I told him he had … (6 comments)

homes in tyler texas: This just might work! - 08/13/13 04:08 AM
This just might work! Recently it came to our attention here at Miller Homes Group that our market area did not have an apartment locator. As a group we went out and visited many of the complexes in the area and discovered that they actually wanted one and would be glad to support it. We looked very hard at what the startup would be and made the decision to move forward with it. We now have Tyler Apartment Locator as a new business. The decision was made with a lot of research and visiting with the community. I have a recurring … (0 comments)

homes in tyler texas: In 2010 with fully one quarter of all mortgages under water. - 09/24/11 12:24 PM
Well what do you know another great idea from the government fails? In 2010 with fully one quarter of all mortgages under water and people looking to strategic foreclosure as an option our lovely brain trust in Washington comes up with a brilliant plan to save millions of these properties and adjust the value.
Simply put they would allow homeowners the opportunity to refinance their FHA loan at the adjusted value provided they had a good pay history. Pretty simple you might think, but after 1 year only 304 homeowners have been helped and the program has only 1 year left.

homes in tyler texas: Local lending is coming back strong. - 03/12/10 07:16 AM
Today's world of real estate is to say the least, interesting. Sellers have to compete with short sales, foreclosures and a host of other problems plaguing the market. Is there hope? Yes, of course, but first we must realize that as real estate professionals, we need to be extremely knowledgeable and patient.
No longer is it good enough to just show homes and write a contract and go to a closing. We must be the calming voice of reason in a storm of ever changing rules and regulations. More and more, the real estate agent is the one that holds the … (5 comments)

homes in tyler texas: If this was Bush... Oh my God! - 01/06/10 11:22 PM
"The website, recovery.gov, reported $26.5 million going to 10 New Mexico congressional districts that do not exist," the group reports. "Those millions were credited with creating 61.5 jobs."
Additionally, $131,139 in funds reported for New Mexico were designated zip codes matching DuPont, Wash.; Richland, Wash.; and Gales Creek, Ore.
While the recovery website shows $373,874 was spent in zip code 97052, the group found that zero jobs were created. Likewise, $100,000 to zip code 86705 resulted in no additional jobs, and $36,218 to zip code 87258 purportedly created five jobs.
"None of these zip codes exist in New Mexico, or anywhere … (19 comments)

homes in tyler texas: Folks, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it ain't a cow. - 12/03/09 12:52 AM
In math class you must show your work.
In English class you must show your source for the material.
But in politics and environmental science you can throw out data that does not support your stance. Facts are facts and trillions and trillions are being spent and committed on false assertions.
It is a political power grab plain and simple. The more they control what we do, the more they control their power.
Folks, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it ain't a cow.

homes in tyler texas: Hey, what the heck, it worked for the global warming crowd. Right? - 11/27/09 02:35 AM
I hereby declare the world to be in a period of "Global COOLING," the temperature outside is cooler than last year and the forecast calls for cooler temps in the future.
I declare "myself" an expert and shall and will manipulate any and all data to support my declarations. Anyone disagreeing with me will be demonized and destroyed in the media, for I am the expert and they are mere idiots.
I will cause governments to tremble and commit "trillions" of dollars in an effort to combat global cooling before it destroys the planet by Tuesday of next week.

Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organized resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.
Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4?
Keith will do likewise. He's not in at the moment - minor family crisis.
Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don't have his new email address.

homes in tyler texas: Are your commissions under attack? - 11/21/09 12:39 AM
Are your commissions under attack?
Where is NAR, when it comes to protecting your hard earned money?
Asset companies think nothing of slashing your commission on a deal and consistently do it on most REO deals being done today. Yet they accepted the deal and make the agent an unwilling financial participant in the deal.
Asset companies follow no rules but expect agents to adhere to the ethics of making the customer happy and not making the deal come unraveled over commissions. The asset company will walk away from a deal in a heartbeat and does if the agent won't cut … (17 comments)

homes in tyler texas: Not good - 11/16/09 12:37 PM
According to the latest numbers from the Treasury Department, JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs are holding the bag on 60 percent of the world's derivatives - an astonishing $120 trillion between them, Still reports.
According to Treasury figures at the end of June, J P Morgan held a staggering $80 trillion in derivative exposure, 50 times more than its $1.6 trillion in assets. Goldman Sachs is in an even more precarious condition. It holds $40 trillion in derivatives backed by assets of only $120 billion - a leverage of 333-to-1.
"To put this into perspective," said Still, "The Gross Domestic Product of … (13 comments)

The new KW Tyler Building. We are investing in our community in a big way and are looking forward to the move in late December.
