homes in tyler: Whats another 132 million among friends! - 08/05/09 05:30 AM
While Americans lose jobs and suffer, our GUTLESS leaders live like rock stars!!!

Last year, lawmakers excoriated the CEOs of the Big Three automakers for traveling to Washington, D.C., by private jet to attend a hearing about a possible bailout of their companies.
But apparently Congress is not philosophically averse to private air travel: At the end of July, the House approved nearly $200 million for the Air Force to buy three elite Gulfstream jets for ferrying top government officials and Members of Congress.
The Air Force had asked for one Gulfstream 550 jet (price tag: about $65 million) as … (4 comments)

homes in tyler: Makes me wonder? - 08/04/09 02:25 AM
On Monday, the White House sought to shoot down concerns that middle-class families may face a tax increase in order to combat rising deficits and a struggling economy after its two top money men floated the idea that tax increases to fund the nation's economic recovery could extend beyond the wealthiest Americans.
"The president was clear during the campaign about his commitment on not raising taxes on middle-class families," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday afternoon. "I don't think any economist would believe that, in the environment that we're in, that raising taxes on middle-class families would make any … (10 comments)

homes in tyler: DID WE MAKE A BIG MISTAKE! - 08/03/09 10:10 AM

The post below I posted a while back and you know what? I am beginning to think that maybe we should have done without TARP and the other so called stimulus and just dealt with energy and corrupt politicians. The more I think about it, I think we are looking at the wrong things in order to have a long term fix. If we don't deal with energy and egos we will be in the same spot again very soon. It may be time to split the country up, like they did eastern Europe several years ago. We obviously have some very … (7 comments)

homes in tyler: Check out the way it will work in 2013!! - 08/03/09 05:04 AM
The Obama administration will suspend the "cash for clunkers" program unless the Senate provides $2 billion more for the popular car incentive plan, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said Sunday.
He said he expects the current $1 billion pool to be exhausted by the end of this weekend. The House approved an additional $2 billion on Friday and the administration is pressing the Senate to go along before its summer vacation begins at week's end.
"If we don't get the $2 billion from the Senate ... we would have to suspend the program next week," LaHood said in an interview with C-SPAN's … (7 comments)

homes in tyler: People can turn this around - 08/03/09 03:30 AM
It's amazing what can happen when you take the money to the "PEOPLE" isn't it?

•·        The "CARS" program that gave up to $4500 in rebates for the trade in of an old clunker, for a more fuel efficient newer car ran out of money in less than 10 days. The administration set aside 1 billion to handle 250,000 cars. This was a street level plan to move vehicles and help the environment. It worked so well that in 10 days the buying public went through the entire billion dollars. Dealers are worried that they may not get paid … (9 comments)

homes in tyler: Ok, now I understand conservation....... - 07/29/09 08:27 AM
"People have lost their jobs. They can't keep their homes. And the answer to people losing their homes is -- let's go spend $700 million for homes and welfare for wild horses," said Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas.
"The leaders of this Congress have more concern for creating a home for horses than jobs for Americans," said Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah.
Wild mustangs and burros have been under federal protection for nearly 40 years, but the fast-growing population has become unmanageable.
Under the Restore Our American Mustangs Act, the number of acres that the estimated 36,000 wild horses roam would increase from … (6 comments)

homes in tyler: Oh yeah, we want them leading us.... - 07/28/09 12:50 PM
Democrat censorship of House Republicans' constituent mailings has reached Orwellian levels.
Democrats on the Franking Commission have even gone as far as to object to and censor Republican mailings to their home districts. Franking is the process by which Congress, the President and some cabinet members correspond with the public using their signature on the envelope instead of a stamp.  The mailings to constituents are limited by budget allotment, and the cost is borne by taxpayer dollars.  The commission approves the content of materials to prevent abuse of the privilege. But the Democrats are clearly abusing their power.

homes in tyler: Don't cut... - 07/28/09 04:01 AM
I just finished reading a great post by Tim Moncrief in Austin, Texas: http://activerain.com/blogsview/1170756/a-final-wall-before-emotionally-giving-up-commissions-
Tim talks about cutting commission and dealing with people who want you to do so.

It brought to mind a story that happened before I got into Real Estate.
I trained car dealer's sales people and one Saturday watched a guy literally negotiate a clear win-lose deal for this particular dealership. He was rude and said he didn't care if the dealership made any money on the deal they could just make it up on the next guy. This was 15 years ago and I still … (13 comments)

homes in tyler: OK Barney, but who will hold you accountable? - 07/28/09 02:21 AM
Good ole Barney's at it again.......

A proposal by Rep. Barney Frank, which will be considered Tuesday by the House Financial Services Committee, would give the government unprecedented power in how financial executives are rewarded.
"If the risk pays off, you make money," Frank said at a National Press Club luncheon Monday. "And if the risk doesn't, you suffer no penalties. Heads you win, tails you break even. It's like selling lottery tickets that only cost you money if they pay off."
Frank's bill also includes an outright ban on compensation that encourages inappropriate risk that could threaten the economy … (3 comments)

homes in tyler: You think, that may be part of the problem? - 07/27/09 09:00 AM

An idiot by any other name is still an idiot.
During his speech at a National Press Club luncheon, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Democratic Congressman John Conyers (D-Mich.), questioned the point of lawmakers reading the health care bill. "I love these members, they get up and say, ‘Read the bill,'" said Conyers. "What good is reading the bill if it's a thousand pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?"

DUH!!!!Well John, that might be a big part of the problem. If you can't understand what your voting … (8 comments)

homes in tyler: Congratulations to George Bush! - 07/27/09 04:09 AM
Congratulations to George Bush! You did a great job of increasing home sales by 11% last month.
After months of just down right bad numbers, George put up a great number. Everyone has been blaming you since November of last year for all the bad things happening in the Real Estate business.
Well here is a big ole atta- boy for George. You stuck to your guns and turned it around for us.

Hey, if you can blame him, you can give him his props too!

homes in tyler: No, I can't answer that! - 07/25/09 07:40 AM
Today I was invited to attend a home buying seminar for some folks in Tyler Texas. The general consensus was if the administration is putting all this money into the Banks and such, why are loans so hard to get? Why are property values still dropping in parts of the country? Followed by why didn't they take the money to the people instead of the big Banks and Automakers?
I had no answer.... NONE!
With the money the administration has put up for the Banks and Car companies a check for $7500.00 to each and every 300 million man, woman and … (11 comments)

homes in tyler: So Flawed, no one can agree!! - 07/24/09 07:24 AM
Well, lets not read the bill and debate like civilized people! I'll just threaten and blackmail you!!
"A key House committee chairman on Friday threatened to roll over moderate Democrats who are holding up the health care reform bill and bring the package straight to the floor.
The statement underscored the deep divisions the health care reform debate is causing in the ranks of the Democratic Party.
Fiscally conservative Blue Dogs are holding up the bill in the House Energy and Commerce Committee over cost concerns and other issues. But Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., on Friday accused those Democrats of empowering … (12 comments)
