The Outer Banks vacation rental market is back after 2 years of declining numbers. So far 2010 has been a banner year for rental companies as well as local business and restaurants. For those waiting to book a rental house at the last second hoping to get deep discounts, forget about it. Most rental companies are at 100% capacity!! I have had over a dozen people call me in the last few weeks wanting to know if I can help them find a house to rent in August and all I can say is sorry nothing available. Many people would love to own a beach house on the Outer Banks but have no idea how much it costs or what’s involved. Since most of the houses on the Outer Banks are used as weekly vacation rentals many people want to know what portion of the rental income will help pay for the expenses and what will be left over to go towards the mortgage?
