blogging advice: Wordpress.com vs. Wordpress.org - 10/04/10 06:18 AM
Wordpress.com vs. Wordpress.org
Which One is the Way to Go?

I am looking to start a blog besides this one here on activerain.  Everyone seems to suggest wordpress to me.  I have learned that there are 2 different wordpress blogs.  Those from wordpress.com and those from wordpress.org.  What I have learned so far is that wordpress.com blogs are completely free because they are hosted by the company.  Wordpress.org blogs do cost a little because you need to host it yoursself.  Besides that piece of information, I don't know a lot about either.  I am looking to do this fairly … (6 comments)

blogging advice: Clip Art and Graphics in Your Blog - Where Do You Find Them? - 10/05/08 07:33 AM
This may be dumb question, but here it goes. Everyone seems to use some type of clip art in their posts.  I wish I could do that because my posts, because they look so blah. I have not been able to figure out how to get clipart into my posts. I can insert photos I have taken, but inserting clipart is just something I cannot master.

Is there a company to use to get all this awesome clipart?

Any suggestions would be great.

Thank you everyone in advance for all you help.

blogging advice: Changing Font Size and Color - 09/25/08 07:56 AM
I am hoping someone out there can help me.  I have written several blogs, but their appearance seems very blah.  I was hoping to change the size of the font or the color or something to make it a little more attractive, but have absolutely no clue how to do it.
I hope to take Dakno Marketing's, Blogging Boot Camp, over the winter, with Bobby and Brad Carroll, but in the meantime need some help.
If anyone could give me some pointers, that would be great.
Thank you in advance,

blogging advice: Outside Blog Companies - 07/17/08 07:49 AM
I started blogging on AR about 1 1/2 months ago.  I have learned a lot about blogging, how to do it, and how it can benefit me.  I am getting pretty used to it.  I think my next step is to get my own outside blog.

I have tried reading posts about this topic and there are so many different companies that offer blogs.  They seem to range from FREE all the up to at least $20 a month.  Some have setup fees of several hundred dollars and some have no setup fees.

I am trying to figure out … (3 comments)

blogging advice: Localism Questions - 07/16/08 07:58 AM
I keep posting to localism, yet I never find my posts.  I have been posting community info and other some community news.  I keep checking localism and I can only find one of my posts.
Am I doing something wrong?  I posted to the one town and community and there is nothing posted in there on localism.
Any help anyone could give me would be great.  I am getting confused. What's the point of posting to localism if nothing ever ends up on it.

blogging advice: Increasing Size and Color of Text - 07/01/08 08:28 AM
I have been posting my blog posts by writing directly into the entry form on AR.  I know it is said to not copy and paste from Word, so I have tried not to.
Does anyone know enough about HTML to help me figure out how to change the font, especially the size and color?  I would love to learn how to also change the actual font, but color and size would be a great start.  My posts just look boring when it is all the same color and size.  Any suggestions would be great.
Also, what does everyone use to … (4 comments)

blogging advice: Posting my Listings - 05/30/08 08:55 AM
I have begun posting my listings to the MLS Online group and to localism.  I have just been entering the listing post right into the blog.  I see some people use other programs such as v-flyer or postlets to enter their listings.
What does  everyone else do?  I am trying to figure out which way to do it.

blogging advice: To Post Listings or Not To Post Listings! - 05/28/08 07:00 AM
I am a bit confused.  As I research about real estate blogging, I have read a lot about not putting your specific listings on blogs, especially on AR.  However, I see so many people putting their listings on as posts.
Is there a rule here?
If we are allowed to post specific listings, where to we actually post it to?
What is the benefit of posting the listings for other agents to see?  I guess it is hopes that a local agent has a client looking for a similar home.
Any suggestions here would be great.  There are so many things … (2 comments)
