Headed down to the beach and last year at this time and the traffic was really tough with all construction not yet completed on the south part of 331 below Highway 20. The traffic today was helped by the completion of the last section of Highway 331 coming through Freeport.
No photo shop needed with 30A the beaches of South Walton always look great.

The earliest settlers of Walton County specialized in livestock: cattle and sheep. During the late 19th century and early 20th, lumber and naval supplies became important components of the local economy. Red Bay was established in the 1820s, and Freeport and Paxton were founded during the 1830s. Freeport, on the Choctawhatchee Bay, served as a commercial port transporting lumber, cattle, and naval supplies.
