wsu: FINAL WEEKEND FOR WSU MOVE OUT! PITCH IN! - 05/27/11 10:51 AM
The WSU students have left and have cleaned out their apartments, homes or dorms.  What do you do with all the extra furniture and miscellaneous items you don't need?
One great solution is to donate the items to local charities.  There are a number of places around the Pullman WA area that are collecting items that are in good shape.  These locations include:  The Playfields Parking Lot in Pullman, Zoe's Car Wash, Cougs Corner Mart, St James Episcopal Church and the Congregational Church parking lot.
This great program is a charitable solution for students to get rid of the items … (0 comments)

Mom's weekend at WSU is fast approaching and the entertainment is fantastic this year.  On April 9th, 2011, at 7:30 pm, we have two of the new and upcoming artists come visit the Palouse.  Scheduled to perform are Colbie Caillat and Lee DeWyze.  The following is information that was listed through the WSU events website:
Armed simply with her dusky vocals and acoustic guitar, Colbie Caillat and her homespun music continue to resonate with listeners and win new fans. USA Today puts her in the company of other platinum plus artists like Sara Bareilles, Caillat's musical hero Jack Johnson, and her good … (4 comments)

wsu: Memory Of A Victory! - 02/03/11 09:26 AM
This is one of my most favorite pictures of my husband.  Every time I look at it, I can feel the thrill of that victory all over again.  His stance and expression says it all!  What a game!  I can remember it like it was yesterday.  November 2008, WSU Women's Soccer Team defeats ASU Soccer 1-0 in overtime.  The weather was cold, rainy and the fog was so thick you couldn't see the other side of the field.  It was an incredible Soccer game filled with emotion!  The win was another step closer to the NCAA Soccer tournament.  It was the moment … (3 comments)

wsu: Pullman WASHINGTON-Number One Town in WA to Raise Your Children 2011! - 12/17/10 05:44 AM
I've had a number of calls and emails sent to me regarding this fantastic article in Businessweek this week.  Our community is excited and I am too!  Pullman WA, our incredible community, was named the Number One town in WA to raise Children 2011!  Whohoo!

The article looks at smaller communities for this study.  Education, recreational activities, crime activity and cost of living were the focus in making their determination.

This is something I have felt all along.  As a mother of a young child, I've enjoyed the positive attributes that Pullman has offered.  It is a strong community … (5 comments)

wsu: Memories of a Lifetime! - 02/23/10 10:01 AM
It was a great visit!  My in laws traveled from England to visit us in our home in Pullman,WA.  Although, they were only here a week, it was a memorable time for all.  They visited WSU, we took them to Costco, ate yummy meals at Swilly's and the Breakfast Club and shopped at our local Palouse Mall.  We laughed, chatted, and reminisced.  It was a super time!

Now they're off to visit other family in Brazil.  My daughter was sad the day they left.  She wanted them to stay longer and less time in Brazil.  It was great watching her as … (6 comments)

wsu: REALTOR by Day...Lucy Guardian at Night - 08/12/09 11:21 AM
I just returned from the Pullman/Moscow Airport.  I dropped off little Lucy and she looked anxious in her small doggie carrier.  She is awaiting her flight to Seattle to reunite with her happy owners.  This is the story about Lucy.  This is the story of how I'm a REALTOR by day and for a short period, was the Lucy Guardian at night.
Former clients from the Seattle area were in Pullman for the weekend to work on a house they had purchased for their WSU student.  Somehow Lucy wandered from the house on Friday evening causing great distress to her owners.  They called … (8 comments)

wsu: Beans and Jeans-Palouse Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser - 04/18/09 08:39 AM
What a great night last night in Pullman, WA.  The Palouse Habitat for Humanity held the first fundaraiser in our area for this great cause.  It was held at the Schwietzer Engineering Event Center and drew a nice crowd to this inaugural event.

The Event included Dinner and both a Silent and Live Auction.  Many wonderful items were included in the auction and small groups of people could be seen gathered around the tables making their choices.  Glenn Johnson, the Pullman Mayor, did an excellent job as the emcee and it was super having Brian Funke, as the Auctioneer.  Large Live Auction items … (0 comments)

wsu: Celebration of Victory and Family at WSU! - 03/01/09 10:30 AM
An incredible basketball game was played in Pullman, Washington yesterday afternoon as the Washington State Cougars defeated the #14 ranked Arizona State Sun Devils, 51-49 in overtime!  Senior, Taylor Rochestie completed a long 3-point shot with less than three seconds that caused the fans to fly out of their seats!  It was an afternoon filled with emotion and excitement as this game was the last home game of the season.  Fans also payed tribute to five seniors who contributed during the past four years.  Beasley Coliseum exploded with enthusiasm and  jubilation!
As a mom, I also enjoyed the celebration that preceded the game.  … (0 comments)
