The new Publix supermarket is now open On Thursday, March 11, 2010 the new Publix store opened for business at the Ormond Mall in Ormond By The Sea, Florida. The Publix store closed in June, 2009 and the building was demolished. The new store is much bigger, having taken a couple of additional spaces previously occupied by the card store and the Gourmet Kitchen. Opening day was a dreary rainy day but the parking lot was still full of shoppers and curious residents who have been waiting months for the convenience of the Ormond By The Sea Publix market.
