Hey Ozark, its that time of year again. Daylight savings time. Don't forget to move your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday night. Its nice to have that extra hour in the evenings to work in the yard, take a walk in the park, or show some homes!

I woke early up this morning to the beautiful Wolf Moon over Ozark. I've heard it called that because its the biggest and brightest full moon of the year and Native Americans thought wolves howled at the full moon. It was so pretty shining over the fresh snow and against the trees.

Yesterday in Ozark Missouri we had a lot of snow! I haven't heard the official total yet but I bet we got at least 7 or 8 inches of snow.
I drove to Springfield for the HBA Home Show, went to some appointments, stopped by Keller Williams, and back home with no slipping or sliding. Then, right in front of my house I decided to swing over and get the mail before turning up our drive. The next thing I knew I was in the ditch, on top of the mail box. My SUV with 4WD was no help! Today is a snowy day in Ozark Missouri. Its a beautiful sight to see it falling in the trees. We are very thankful for the snow instead of the ice storms we have had the past few years. This afternoon it will be nice to just relax and watch the snow. I'm sure the kids will enjoy playing and sledding. I was sitting at the computer blogging away a few minutes ago and happend to look out the window. Look what was in our front yard! Our home is on a hill that overlooks the Finley River Valley here in Ozark Missouri. We are fortunate to live in town and it feels like we are in the country.
We have all kinds of wildlife and really enjoy it. The only bad thing is we have lost a couple of nice trees because the deer scraped on them! We see the deer a lot at night but I've never seen them this … (15 comments)

We enjoyed watching Ozark High School Band perform at the Ozarko competition yesterday at Missouri State University. The name of their show is "Outside The Box". The band marches through and between large boxes which are carried around on the field. Its a very complicated routine.
The weather was a bit cool, especially late in the evening but it was worth it! We're proud to support our band! Our son is a freshman and plays trumpet! … (2 comments)

Ozark Missouri - October 16-17th at the Ozark Community Center, The OC. The Forest of Fears is for kids from 5-8:30 pm and for adults starting at 9:00 pm. This sounds like a lot of fun for all ages. Admission is $3 each, $10 per family for the children's event and $6 each for the adult tour. More community links Ozark, Springfield, Nixa.

The spillways at Table Rock Dam are still open from all the heavy rain we got last week. With thousands of cubic feet of water per second rushing over the dam, its quite the site to see! I recommend checking it out if you are visiting Branson and its just a short drive from Ozark Missouri.

The Ozark Mountain Barnstormers RC club held their annual Fall picnic and fly-in last weekend. There was a good turn out of people and a variety of planes to watch. The radio control airplane flying club holds various events every year and visitors are welcome.
The best time to see someone flying is weekends and evenings. The club is located on Cheyenne Road between Ozark and Nixa. Members are from Ozark, Nixa, Springfield, and surrounding communities.

It was announced today that Riverside Inn, One of the Ozarks' finest fine-dining restaurants, will close by the end of the year. Riverside Inn sits on the banks of the Finley River North of Ozark Missouri, which has flooded several times over the years, including last year.
As a long time favorite place for parties, weddings, and anniversary dinners; it will be missed.

I've long wondered the history about the old red barn that sits high on the hill in Ozark Missouri. I took this picture last Winter just after it was restored.
I was a bit concerned when I first saw it with the sides torn off. I was afraid they might be tearing it down. Thank goodness it was only being restored. Looks like this Ozark Missouri landmark will be around for many years to come. If you happen to know the history on this, please drop me a line.
