IT'S THE LAW!
According to the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL),  of January 2011, twenty-four states have statutes requiring carbon monoxide detectors in certain residential buildings.
Alaska | California | Colorado | Connecticut | Florida | Georgia | Illinois | Maine | Maryland | Massachusetts| Michigan | Minnesota | Montana | New Jersey | New Hampshire | New York | North Carolina | Oregon | Rhode Island | Texas | Utah | Vermont | Virginia | Washington | Wisconsin | West Virginia
We're seeing quite a few inquiries about this.
In California, this becomes effective July 1, 2011.
One may consider swapping out the regular smoke detectors with combination smoke/carbon monoxide detectors which are available from so many resources like Home … (8 comments)
