zillow: Bottom Line Publications: Common Errors on Real Estate Web Sites - 03/27/13 05:19 AM

Much as I love the presence of websites like Trulia and Zillow where I can enhance my listings, answer questions, even blog.....from time to time, I get inquiries from people who "found the listing on the internet".
Oftentimes, the listing is either sold/expired, or it's not even listed (as in the case of RealtyTrac posts).
I love the opportunity to enlighten the folks who inquire, but I also hate disappointing them if the property they are really interested in is not available.
And then there are those who seem surprised, and even upset, that the listing is not mine. So … (1 comments)

It's an ongoing effort to improve the perception of our profession. We accomplish this by adhering to and performing according to the highest ethical standards and to Truth in Advertising.
Most of us, however, have limited budgets and may not be able to do a lot of print, billboard, internet sponsored ads, etc. And if are confined to FREE advertising, then we should take advantage of them, using

zillow: Nurturing prospects and developing an online presence are paying off! - 04/30/09 08:21 AM
THIS IS MY WAY OF SAYING THANKS to the methods I have learned that help me in my business. I'm not saying I'm hugely successful --- but I'm at least comfortably entrenched, and STILL in the business.
When I came to California to start life anew, I was literally homeless, jobless, friendless, and living off what little equity I had from the sale of our home in Orlando, FL.
Becoming a realtor meant taking classes, investing in tools of the trade, trying to work smart (as well as hard), and praying!
So what did I do that is paying off for … (8 comments)

zillow: I'M EXHAUSTED! How does one keep up with online blogs, posts, etc. - 04/07/09 07:32 PM
Back in 2003 when I became a Realtor, I signed up for the free version of a website from Point2Agent.com. Since I didn't have any clients yet, I scoured the internet for useful information to populate my website. Thank goodness Point2Agent is so robust it reaches a lot of other websites.
Internet presence begins...
So I began by doing open houses for other agents with listings, and got their permission to post them on craigslist (some even asked me what Craigslist was). In 2003, I was the only one in my office posting open houses on craigslist. Now, nearly everyone does.

zillow: A Tale of Two REALTORS (the veteran vs the newbie, beauty and the beast?) - 09/25/08 08:04 PM
Once upon a time, there was a successful REALTOR who worked hard and did everything he learned from his mentor since he started 21 years ago. He selected areas where he could farm. He walks the streets and drops off fliers and puts door hangers. He listens to his very astute associate from the title company who taught him how to send letters to chosen target audiences to tell them about buyers who are looking for specific properties. So he sends "urgent need" letters. He mails "Just Listed" and "Just Sold" flyers. He just learned how to showcase his listings on REALTOR.com. … (15 comments)

zillow: Should you mention Zillow and Cyberhomes in your CMA & listing presentation? - 09/12/08 04:47 AM
I just listed a fixer home, and posted it on craigslist, using information I got from Zillow and Cyberhomes.
The local Alameda blogger saw it immediately. And although I got points for straight-talkin' the condition of the property, he zinged me (or realtors in general) for using Zillow zestimate in my craigslist/vflyer/postlet post.
And speaking of Zillow, after all the flak the big Z is getting from the real estate industry for their Zestimates(tm), I find it a bit rich that a Zestimate(tm) is not only mentioned in a listing, but ostensibly used to establish a "fair" list price by deducting … (5 comments)
