Happy New Year! What was your New Year's resolution? Well here it is Monday and I have not heard back from a Listing Agent I called on Saturday to try to do a 2nd showing on a property we are in negotiation for. Oh yes I called the Listing Agent's office too but they have a constant busy signal, a problem with the line I guess. I also sent a text thinking that might do the trick. Frustration is commonplace in real estate today. As real estate professionals we are dealing with many hurdles to get every deal through to the closing table. If it is not an appraisal problem it might be a different mortgage issue. If it is not a glitch in title work it might be a problem with the certificate of occupancy. Well it is part of the game we choose to play so can we all agree that we work on the issues rather that repeat our frustration over and over again? I was at a class last week on Short Sales. The instructor asked the question "Who is responsible for the current situation where so many homeowners find themselves in danger of foreclosure?" The ideas started to fly around the room. It was the stock market, the government encouraging home ownership for all, the banks, the mortgage brokers, unemployment, etc. etc. Well, I raised my hand to add that although it might not be popular in a room full of Realtors, we as a group had to accept some of the blame.
