I'll admit it, I have a keen sense of smell. It doesn't take that to notice when a property is overly aromatic.
I love pets and realize that they are at the mercy of their owners to keep them clean and also clean up after them if there are accidents. I've staged homes where the "evidence" is there as clear as if it needed to be roped off like a crime scene. What's wrong with this picture?
I realize that as a stager, I am sometimes the one to explain to the homeowner, as gently as I can, that there is a problem, (15 comments)
pets: Don't Move the Dog Crate!

How many of you have struggled with clients about their pet paraphenalia? It's not difficult to put away the toy basket, clear the floor of pigs ears, bones and catnip mice. The real problem comes with the dog crates (usually LARGE) and the litterbox. Oversized dog beds and cat jungle-gyms and ferrett runs are not desirable focal points in a room either. These things are a reality in a home, so how do you deal with them? In an ideal world, there would be an accommodating neighbor, friend, or family member who would house the pet and equipment until the house had (31 comments)
A Stager's DictionaryIs there a staging dictionary or glossary somewhere? If not, I think we should compile one. Here are a few ideas to get us started (not in alphabetical order):
