I'll admit it, I have a keen sense of smell.  It doesn't take that to notice when a property is overly aromatic.
 
I love pets and realize that they are at the mercy of their owners to keep them clean and also clean up after them if there are accidents.  I've staged homes where the "evidence" is there as clear as if it needed to be roped off like a crime scene.  What's wrong with this picture?

pets: Don't Move the Dog Crate! - 04/20/08 06:53 AM
How many of you have struggled with clients about their pet paraphenalia?  It's not difficult to put away the toy basket, clear the floor of pigs ears, bones and catnip mice.  The real problem comes with the dog crates (usually LARGE) and the litterbox. Oversized dog beds and cat jungle-gyms and ferrett runs are not desirable focal points in a room either.  These things are a reality in a home, so how do you deal with them?

A Stager's DictionaryIs there a staging dictionary or glossary somewhere?  If not, I think we should compile one.
Here are a few ideas to get us started (not in alphabetical order):
 
 
 
 
 
Unstaged- your work has been substantially changed by a client/family member or friend
Restaged- a staged property has been reworked or completely overhauled
Upstaged-a staged property has been given a more high-end look
De-Staging-The removal of all staging items after a successful sale
De-populate-removal of family photos
Furdown-minimize the presence of pets
RANT-remove accessories, nick-knacks and tchotckes (sp?)
BB&B-(Baby's Breath and Bows) dated embellishments
LOP- (Land of Precious, Courtesy of Christopher Lowell) Overly sweet or feminine decor
Salon So Long-Eliminating personal care items
