Although I am looking at a bright blue, sunny sky as I write this … I am eyeing the rapidly rising pile of leaves on my deck that tell me gray skies and cooler weather are coming up fast. Brrrrrr! Soon we will be looking for ways to be warmer. Lighting the fireplace is the first thing that pops into my mind, and I suppose I could rake those leaves to warm myself up. Sometimes, even the nicest rooms have an awkward spot that detracts from the rest of the room. This long and very pretty galley kitchen had an open laundry area that just seemed awkward and ungainly at the end of the room. The seller had always hated the look of this open laundry area, feeling that it was an eyesore compared to the rest of the kitchen. By adding cheerful art and accessories that worked with the rest of the kitchen we made it feel like it belonged there. A few days ago I wrote a posting about low and zero VOC paints. ( See posting on Zero VOC, What's That Stand For ... Very Odd Colors? ...) However, even "zero" VOC paints can have up to 5 grams of the various toxins per liter. One of the people commenting on my post mentioned that even those can be too much for her asthma. So I wanted to add information about Natural Paints. Again on Eartheasy.com there is great information on paints that are made from completely natural ingredients and may be a better option for those who have (4 comments)

Dear fellow creative stagers and interior designers. I am sharing photos of a few of my favorite floral arrangements which I have used in my home staging and interior design jobs. So many times I've had clients say they don't want any of that "fake stuff'. Generally all I need to do is point out that real flowers have to be changed at least weekly to get my client to relent Although they may be dubious at first, the inevitable reaction when they see the arrangement is "Oh ... well this is nice ... are those real?!"
