earthquakes: Earthquake in Illnois
- 04/17/08 11:25 PM
A magnitude 5.4 earthquake, centered 127 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri, shook southern Illinois at 4:36 a.m. (5:36 a.m. ET) Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter of the earthquake was about 3 miles below ground and 41 miles north-northwest of Evansville, Indiana. It was said to have been felt 450 miles away and I had no idea this area is the second most dangerous area for earthquakes. Who all have ever felt a earthquake? Not sure I want to be included in this group, but I am curious what it might be like....... (9 comments)
