Needham, MA Blizzard of 2011/1978 In 1978 I left for Florida February 1st. It was my first trip to Florida. My mother-in-law gave me 2 tickets for my son and I to visit my parents who had just moved there. Little did I know that I would miss The Blizzard of 1978. Through it all Needham keeps insulated as far as the house values. Needham continues to draw folks to it's community. We are sure it is the fine education that the children of Needham receive. Recently Needham came in as 19th in the top 50 high schools according to "Boston Magazine." Additoinally it is a commuter's dream.
