HIKING THE BLUE TRAIL Blue is the color for this month’s hike in the Del Monte Forest. This hike will take you from the Equestrian Center, along Spyglass golf course, up to and beside Forest Lake, along the crest of Poppy Hills, and back down to Stevenson Drive and the Equestrian Center. I found it a very nice and well maintained trail that was fairly easy to find. PEBBLE BEACH TRAIL HIKES Choose your color and go for a hike. Blue, Green, and Red. Hiking in the Del Monte Forest is as easy as putting on your shoes, grabbing a water bottle and picking a color. There are over 26 miles of trails in the Del Monte Forest available to explore on foot or horseback. Along with some good exercise you will be guaranteed dramatic ocean and/or serene golf course views no matter which trail you choose. Let’s just say that the green trail is long. Long enough that it is going to be broken down into two separate articles. I was able to hike half of the trail with the trusty help of my sons Flynn and Declan. We started at the equestrian center and followed the trail to Drake Road which we then walked along to Stevenson Road.
