YESTERDAY, was our NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER...!!!
This tradition goes back to the founding days of our nation...BUT...
MAYBE SOME OF US have forgotten how to pray...SO...
GOING BACK TO BASICS...If ‘PRAYER’ can be simply defined as ‘CONVERSATION WITH GOD’...THEN...
IF WE TRULY BELIEVE or at least HOPE, or even in desperation cry out...
IN A CONVERSATION WITH GOD...WHO WOULD DO THE MOST TALKING AND WHO SHOULD DO THE MOST LISTENING...???
HUMANLY SPEAKING IT’S relatively easy to come up with a typical ‘LAUNDRY LIST’ of petitions or needs to place at God’s feet, but, IF GOD IS TRULY PRESENT doesn’t HE ALREADY KNOW OUR NEEDS...SO...

On this, the 44th anniversary of ROE v WADE, the Supreme Court decision that made legal a woman’s right to have an abortion, hundreds of thousands of PRO LIFERS will march peacefully, soberly, and joyfully...
JOYFULLY, yes, not because they wish to condemn women who have had abortions, but because they really MARCH TO CELEBRATE LIFE...!!!
AMERICANS, without THE RIGHT TO LIFE, no other rights matter...!!!
THE RIGHT TO LIFE is so fundamental and foundational that every other ‘RIGHT’ is like a building erected on a ‘foundation’ of sand...it simply will not survive...it will be washed away by shifting sands...!!!

What ever happened to ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’...FROM MANY ONE...???
As a Judeo Christian Nation we are called by our ONE GOD to build a CITY ON A HILL...A City that will send out bright beams of Hope...that will attract the whole world to THE ONE GOD...
Some don’t buy into this premise, but most Americans are eager to see that CITY ON A HILL being built...
I’m speaking about Republicans, Democrats, Conservatives, Liberals, Christians, Jews, Muslims, and Atheists...!!!
ALL ARE CALLED TO BENEFIT BY THE CITY ON A HILL...!!!

With Saint Patrick’s Day next Tuesday, the color ‘GREEN’ has been bouncing around in my head...
Visions of Irish potatoes, shamrock shakes, corned beef and cabbage, three and four leaf clovers, and the like...
Then I thought of how we are divided as a nation into ‘BLUE’ and ‘RED’ states...Conservative and Liberal...poor and middle class...white collar and blue collar...
IT AIN’T SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY...!!!
We are now more than halfway through LENT, and our focus should be on PRAYER and UNITY, not fracture and divisiveness...

If you haven’t tried this Holiday treat I urge you to do so...
Go out and get yourself one of those tied pork roasts...If you have a crock pot (not crack pot) or one of those electric roasters they’re great...
Using College Inn or other suitable chicken broths as a base, now you’re ready to do some major league cooking...
I use a lot of garlic cloves, rosemary, and a couple of bay leaves, and of course appropriate salt and peppering to bring out the best flavor of the pork...

Often, it seems as though we Americans quickly forget the important things that come our way, and long remember silly, or seemingly unimportant events...Not so with 911 however.Some have said that the events of that day, September 11, 2001, which caused the untimely deaths of over 3,000 innocent people of all faiths, cultures, and nationalities, were a payback from God for the wayward way Americans lead their lives...You can believe whatever you wish, but my gut tells me that Americans in general, and their behaviour, are held to a much higher standard than the rest of the world, both by Americans … (7 comments)

It has dawned on me that we are no longer a nation united under one goal or one set of standards...!!!
Remember, our government, although begun by revolution from English rule, still carried with it, as subscribed by the early founding fathers, a moral code based on the Ten Commandments and Judeo/Christian principles...
That is until about pre World War II, when history will show that those traditional values were beginning to come under attack...

Finally, after about a two year campaign the 2008 presidential election is over...We have a President Elect Barack Obama...
And while we're still sifting through the debris and fallout caused by the many campaign promises and acerbic accusations made by both major parties, I would like to share some of my own personal thoughts and reflections with you...
