EVERYONE AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER has heard that famous 3rd chapter from ECCLESIASTES quoted or read: ‘There is an appointed time for everything...A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant. A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to build...’ etc.,
From time to time it would behoove us to reread that entire chapter, and in fact, that entire book...
WHICH BRINGS ME TO THE THEME OF THIS POST...VANITY OF TOIL...SELF CONTROL...SUBORDINATION TO GOD IN ALL THINGS...AND SO...
CONTROLFREAKISM...Really annoying, disordered, often sinful, human behaviour...!!!
AND...It is running rampant and 'out of control’ in American society and perhaps around the world...!!!
You can identify those bound by CFism by their inability to peaceably handle situations where ‘THEY DON’T GET THEIR WAY’...(isn’t that an indication that everything they do is preconceived or pre meditated...!!!) If you were to accuse a CFer of ‘BEING A SPOILED BRAT’ you would probably be cited for ‘VERBAL ABUSE’...Another CFer trait...

Everyone is waiting for signs that our economy is recovering from the doldrums into which it has sunk... Listen to that statement...it treats the economy as if it were a living entity of its own... Wake up!!! The economy is us...!!! What are we looking for? In a word...STABILITY...!!! How does the market achieve STABILITY...??? I'll give you one word and expect you to run with it...!!! It is the same word that distinguishes a Gentleman from a mere man...a Lady from a mere woman...a Champion from a mere athlete...a Patriot from a mere citizen...and … (14 comments)

I know you're thinking of that great song by Kenny Rogers, "THE GAMBLER", but that's not where I'm going with this post...this post is all about RESPECT...another popular tune of the rock and roll era... In my High School days we were given a 'mark' on our report cards for 'Self Control'...I used to pooh pooh that back then...musing to myself over how little that meant and how it could even be on our report cards since it was not easily quantifiable!!! And even I myself never scored highly in that category...desiring to substitute 'class clowning' as a substitute or remedy … (18 comments)
