wordless wednesday: Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ Yard Art and Signs of Spring - 02/19/19 09:49 PM
While showing homes in Belhaven, I noticed the Japanese Magnolias in full bloom. I've always heard them referred to as "tulip trees". Their beautiful pink blossoms indicate Spring will arrive soon. (It won't be soon enough!)

The same day, I was greeted by a funky musician propped beside the mailbox. Since Belhaven is known for its historic neighborhoods, art and cultural opportunities, this guy was right at home.

It's fun to capture interesting photos while touring neighborhoods and showing homes to clients. I hope you enjoy.

wordless wednesday: Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ Saturday in the Park - 07/25/18 09:53 AM
Nothing quite epitomizes the feeling of playing in the park on a Saturday like this statue. Plus it reminds me of one of my favorite bands growing up; yes, I know I'm dating myself. :-)

Locals will recognize this statue from the Nature Trail in Flowood, MS next to Winners Circle Park.

In case you're a Millenial, following is the musical reference. Baby Boomers, turn up your speakers.

wordless wednesday: Almost Wordless Wednesday - Heart Shaped Garden of Love - 07/17/18 05:50 PM
While driving past the Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center last week, I caught a glimpse of something colorful and of course, had to turn the car around to take a photo.

The facility recently installed this gorgeous heart shaped flower bed smack in the middle of the front lawn. The picnic tables were painted a shade of red to match the vincas. In the photo below you can see a section of the red walking track.
The nursing and rehab facility has received several Commercial Landscaping Awards from the Brandon Garden Club for their previous projects. The flower bed was an employee project and … (21 comments)

wordless wednesday: Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ Synchronized Swimmers - 07/10/18 03:16 PM
This weekend I took my granddaughter to Winners Circle Park and the Nature Trail in Flowood. She wanted to meet some friends and we ended up walking on the trail.
It was a typical scorching Mississippi afternoon. As we walked over the bridge to leave, these four Canadian Geese were swimming equally spaced as if they were synchronized swimmers. On cue, as I raised my camera, they turned and swam to the right. This is the photo I captured.
Winners Circle Park and the Nature Trail are just two of the amenities of Flowood and the Reservoir Area. Explore Flowood and see what other sights we … (19 comments)

wordless wednesday: Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ Bicycle Turned Yard Art - 05/09/18 07:47 AM
My readers know I love quirky yard art. While driving out of town yesterday I caught a glimpse of something unique and interesting and immediately turned the car around to capture this photo.
Normally I would pull over, grab the shot and be on my merry way, but because the owner was standing in the yard, I stopped to ask permission. Like most friendly Mississippians, he welcomed me to not only take the photo, but proceeded to give me a tour of his fence where he displayed other quaint hand-constructed art pieces.
He said his wife would find ideas on Pinterest, and his job was to implement her wishes.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday ~ Breakfast - 04/18/18 07:58 AM
People say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This squirrel was getting his belly full when I took a recent stroll in the park.
Taking photos of nature and architecture is one of my hobbies. My passion for real estate leads me to photograph rustic old barns, unique home details, and of course flowers!

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday - Two of My Favorite Things! - 04/03/18 02:50 PM
I peered out the window yesterday while preparing dinner, and oh what a sight! The water irises were in full bloom and I could barely contain my excitement.
Unfortunately dinner could not wait, so I walked closer today to capture these beauties. I'm so blessed; I get to enjoy golfers, calm waters, AND flowers all in one shot!
Deciding which photo to feature was difficult, so I'm sharing two!

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday ~ I Couldn't Resist This Old Barn - 03/28/18 06:12 PM

If you've followed my blog for very long, you know I love to capture images like the one above. While viewing property this afternoon, I spotted this dilapidated old barn behind a row of new construction homes, and couldn't resist snapping this picture. And how about that tree? I wonder how old it is.

wordless wednesday: Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ Springtime in Castlewoods - 03/21/18 03:15 PM

Golfers don't care if the weather is wet or cold. Now that Spring is here, almost any day of the week you will see players line up on the number one tee to enjoy a round of golf at Castlewoods Golf Club.
Although it appears sunny and warm, the temperature was on the chilly side at the time this photo was taken. It never dampens the spirits of the golfers, or those who enjoy the golf course view while traveling to and from work.

wordless wednesday: Spring is in the Air in Central Mississippi - 03/01/18 06:27 AM
After weeks of gloomy wet cold weather, spring it on its way to central Mississippi. Although we are still getting more than our fair share of rain, the Bradford Pear and Tulip trees are in full bloom. Daytime temperatures have hit the mid 80s already, so get ready for a red hot summer!
The spring and summer real estate market is warming up, too. If you're in the market to buy or sell a home in central Mississippi, contact me for a no-obligation consultation.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday ~ Brandon MS Christmas Display - 12/19/17 09:17 PM

Each year this home, located in Castlewoods Subdivision in Brandon, MS, is decorated for Christmas. There was no music the night I took the photo, so my only suggestion would be to add audio. Can you imagine the amount of work involved to put this display together? It's a beautiful sight to behold.

Wishing You and Yours a Very Merry Christmas!

wordless wednesday: Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ Fly High Old Glory - 07/03/17 09:53 PM
This weekend I visited a friend in the hospital. The first thing I noticed surrounding the flagpole was the knockout roses and our flag flying high. Although the wind wasn't cooperative, after a dozen shots or so, I was able to capture the flag almost fully extended. I knew the flag would be todays feature for Almost Wordless Wednesday.

wordless wednesday: Got Golf? Almost Wordless Wednesday - 06/14/17 08:09 AM
Living on the golf course has its perks, like sitting on your patio/deck watching golfers go by. There's an added perk of golf course living; someone else maintains the greens, but YOU get the enjoyment.
This photo was taken on the 6th tee box at Castlewoods Subdivision overlooking one of the many water hazards.
If you'd like to explore the opportunity of golf course living, call me and let's talk. I know the neighborhood and we can discuss your options.

wordless wednesday: Is My Hat On Straight? Almost Wordless Wednesday - 06/07/17 11:58 AM

When I saw this charming figurine at a Realtor Open House last week, I had to snap her photo. It appears she is straightening her spring bonnet which is filled with pink (or are they purple?) petunias.
As charming as the outside of this home is, you really should see the inside. It's a beautiful 3 bedroom, two bath home on the GOLF COURSE in Castlewoods, with a new roof, fabulous Tuscan Oak wood floors, and a NEW air conditioning system.  The price? An unbelievable $254,900.
Check it out then call me to schedule a private showing.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday ~ Pink Hydrangeas - 05/31/17 06:57 AM

On a recent walk at Flowood Nature Trail, I look photos of the beautiful scenery. The pink hydrangeas beckoned me to take a photo, so I obliged.
The Nature Trail is adjacent to Winners Circle Park. The trail winds through the trees and native plantings are sprinkled along the pathway.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday - The Martians Are Coming! - 03/08/16 12:45 PM
While taking a shortcut recently trying to avoid road construction, I came across this partially painted water tower. I couldn't decide what it resembled more -  some sort of space ship or a Big Green Egg. It could also pass as an amusement ride at the state fair.
What do you think it looks like?
This water tower is located just off Lakeland Drive (Highway 25 North) in Flowood.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday - Massive Sink Hole in Meridian MS - 11/11/15 08:20 AM
A monstrous sink hole appeared in the IHOP Parking Lot in Meridian, Saturday, November 7th, swallowing 15 vehicles. The investigation by OSHA is still underway.
The cavernous sink hole was 360 feet long and 50 feet wide.
You may have seen this on the news, but I wanted to share this clip with my ActiveRain friends. Meridian is located about 80 miles from Brandon MS.

wordless wednesday: Wordless Wednesday - Golden Pond - 10/27/15 02:39 AM
Wordless Wednesday - Golden Pond
Bur Marigold, Bidens laevis
This photo was taken of the pond behind my office. I happened to glance that direction last week and saw this spectacular wave of golden floral display. A neighbor who joins the property, a wildlife conservationist, said the species is invasive. No kidding!

This gives new meaning to the phrase "Golden Pond"
