KTEC Orientation with Mark Cotner. What a breath of fresh air! KTEC will succeed because it is going to be a no nonsense training facility for young people. At the orientation last evening Mark laid it on the line, dress like you are already working in that profession, no metal at school, do not miss class, be respectful, you never know when a perspective employer will be walking through your class area.. And best of all you will also be earning college credits.
If you have not yet been out to see this new training center, do yourself a favor (0 comments)

ktec: KTEC our new technical being out in Rathdrum
- 07/13/12 03:40 AM
What a marvelous experience I had yesterday. I had a private tour of KTEC, our new technical school being built out in Rathdrum. Mark Cotner was very gracious and showed us all the new buildings and talked about their purpose and how the students would be using the space as they are being taught skills that will enable them to support themselves and build careers.
KTEC has had so many applicants that a second shift has been added and they still are having to put students on a waiting list in most areas.
Local businesses have been donating equipment, (2 comments)
ktec: Kootenai Tecnical Eduaction Campus in Rathdrum Idaho

We are so blessed that the educators in Kootenai County see the very strong benefits to offering an alternative to going to a college after high school. That alternative is Kootenai Technical Education Campus. The Kootenai Technical Education Campus in Rathdrum, Idaho, offers a two-year program for local high school students. There are eight programs ranging from automotive technology to a resort academy. Students who are admitted can work toward high school and college credits. This is where young people can learn a skill and provide a living for themselves as they investigate where they want to channel their education for a (0 comments)

Wow things are moving along at KTEC, the technical and professional school, that is being built in Rathdrum, Idaho. They are planning a big informational night on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Coeur d’Alene High School from 6:30pm to 8pm. This night is for middle school and high school students along with their parents. I will be getting an agenda soon, and I will post it when I get it. There is a lot of excitement in our community from local businesses wanting information about the programs and how they can have input. Also NIC is having the board from (1 comments)
ktec: Good Neighbors in Post Fall Idaho
- 11/04/11 10:26 AM
Kimball Office, in Post Falls, Idaho, is a very good neighbor. They give many hours to supporting the community, through involvement and service. They are also one of our larger employers in Kootenai County. Kimball Office has outlined its environmental philosophy around people, products and processes, and they have shown their commitment by their actions. They are active in the Post Falls Chamber and they support the new KTEC School that has started construction in Rathdrum, to be open fall of 2012. For more information about Kimball Office, visit their website. (0 comments)
ktec: "Made in America"
- 10/14/11 05:41 AM
I wrote about KTEC the other day when they had their ground breaking, and I am thinking that not enough people understand the value of such a facility in our community. This will allow training for so many of of our young people in skills that they can take to higher level in their lifetime. A hands on skill does not say that a person cannot or does not need to go on to higher learning. KTEC will give them the means to get there. We all want to see more "Made in America" and it will start right here as (0 comments)
