New Home Builders in Northern Virgina are holding more standings inventory than usual as we enter the Spring 2016 selling season. This is great news for our local home buyers and especially for people relocating into the area!
In general very few builders in our area build on speculation that a buyer will show up. Most built to contract and homes in this area typical take four to six months to build. So to see this many immediate delivery homes available tells you something must have caused this. Yes, many buyers found themselves in a very disappointing position towards the end of the last quarter of 2015 .

Reids Prospect is a community built over the last 5 years and is centrally located right off the Prince William Parkway near the County Complex in Woodbridge, Virginia. Over the past year, we are starting to see homeowners who are now moving since it has been a few years typically we see resales starting in year four. This year there have been 10 sales, one under contract and one for sale now that is only 2 years old. The community features a community pool and is just a short drive to Harris Teeter or the Safeway at The Glen Shopping Center.

Potomac Shores in Dumfries Virginia is really becoming a community. Today I was checking on one of my buyers homes that is under construction at Potomac Shores in the The Shores section of the community. The street was busy with contractors framing homes and pouring foundations. On this street alone there are three new foundations poured and four homes under construction at one phase or another. Energy Star Rated Homes have amazing advantages over resale homes. You see good builders are continually upgrading their Energy Compliance in their homes.
