Summer is still here! Time now for Hot August Nights! The Lewis-Clark Valley is located at the confluence of the snake and Clearwater Rivers on the Idaho/Washington state border. The twin cities were named in honor of the Corps of Discovery explorers, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. The community serves as a regional service and shopping center for northcentral Idaho and eastern Washington and Oregon. The community is the side of the furthest inland seaport, Port of Lewiston, 465 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Lewiston was the site of Idaho's first capital.
