brokerage practices: Title Closed Without Disbursement from Broker

Just this week I experienced an unfortunate situation with a Title Company. One of my agents was closing on a personal home. I use Back Agent to manage all contracts, addenda, and related paperwork for all transactions. This program allows me to view all contracts prior to closing to ensure they are correct and complete. Additionally, I can create the Disbursement Authorization and send it to the Title Company. In this particular instance, the Title Company closed this home without receiving a DA from me, the broker! The file was not complete and therefore, the DA would have not been created. Woah! … (15 comments)

We know in this business of real estate brokerage, agents tend to move companies several times over the course of their careers. As a broker, I have experienced all sorts of exits. Some of them that were handled extremely well, while others were abysmally inept. The real estate world really is not that big when you are immersed in the business and in the area you work.
