A portion of Partin Settlement from Red Jasper Rd up to 192 will be closed for road widening for the next 6 weeks. The closure began on Monday, June 18.
The purpose of the road closure is to allow the contractor to complete all drainage activities and roadway widening in that area.
U.S. 192 traffic needing to access Partin Settlement Road will be detoured via Simmons Road (see map).
Electronic message boards have been installed to inform motorists about the road closure, and detour signs will guide traffic.

It has finally happened. The Saint Cloud Commons has opened for business. Well, some shops have. Hobby Lobby and Marshalls opened earlier this week and there are bound to be more grand openings throughout the next few months as they prepare for holiday shopping. Driving into Saint Cloud from Kissimmee, Ulta has a billboard with their grand opening dates next weekend. When you get off the turnpike heading north onto 192, there are plenty of signs on the roads notifying residents and visitors of other opening dates.

"The Florida Project" is a movie based on the lives of homeless children growing up in motels along Kissimmee's U.S. Route 192. The movie will premier October 6, 2017.
The motels are so close to Disney parks, that they can actually see the nightly fireworks shows. The filmmakers team spent over a year 'embedded' in the area speaking with people experiencing homelessness and living in motels. Several residents played extras in the scenes. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Osceola's population growth over the last 5 years has exceeded 20 %. So by the year 2030, Osceola could be home to a half million people or more.
"By 2030, at the current pace in growth, Osceola County will pass Seminole County becoming the second most populated county in the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford Metropolitan Service Area," County Manager Don Fisher said.

A new proposed retail center may be coming to the 9 + acres, southeast of the intersection Bill Beck Boulevard and East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee. The center may include a very ‘well known, big box grocery store’, restaurants, and several retail stores.
