open house: Poll - Was YOUR Open House busy or slow this weekend? Poll
- 03/14/11 06:07 AM
I've probably done a 1000 open houses over the 31+ years that I've been a Realtor. Recently I've been holding MY house open. Since it's my house, I'm able to hold it open longer than I would someone else's. This last weekend I held it open 8 hours each day. Saturday I had one person through and Sunday no one came by. I don't think I've ever held an open house where NO ONE came by. I live in South Orange County, Southern California. The weather was beautiful both days. I advertised in the MLS, on Craigslist, and on the personal website (0 comments)
open house: Open House - Are They Important - or a Waste of Time
- 02/23/09 03:58 AM
Ask a dozen Realtors if holding Open House is important and you'll get a dozen answers. In my opinion, if the home is unique, holding open houses is very important. But then, to me, every house is unique, so I think holding open house is important for every listing. Some agents feel open houses are a waste to time, for various reasons. The agent may feel that their time can be spent more efficiently doing other things to market the home, like posting on Craig's List or here on Active Rain. Some feel that only buyer's agents should be holding open (0 comments)
open house: Open House Sitting - and Lunch - what do YOU eat?
- 09/27/08 11:32 AM
I get hungry during open house, do you? I typically tell myself that if I eat a large meal just before I start, that it will get me through the day - but it seldom does. By the end of my typical 5 hour shift, I am starving. Sometimes I'll plan ahead and bring a sandwich or something, but usually not. What do YOU do? And if you are reading this right now, and you are in Rancho Santa Margarita, Please come by my open house, and bring me a sandwich!! (only 1/2 kidding:-) Paul (2 comments)
