November 1st is National Scented Candle Day! I must have over sensitive olfactory senses, because most candles I find irritating. Like Cinnamon, Vanilla, Cheap Pine Tree... But my youngest daughter introduced me to Hearthwick Flame a wood wick candle! Flavor was called Fireside- Redwood, Sandlewood, Clove. So I am now hooked on that Enjoy National Scented Candle Day! October 23rd is National IPOD Day! I have purchased multiple Iphones ( Maybe 10-12), Mac Book, Mac Book Air's, Air Pods I have yet to own one. :) I am the sole Android Phone/ PC hold out in my household. So I really don't get today being National iPod Day. Do they even make iPods any more? Actually I don't really care so no need to answer that. I just don't believe the Hype! Happy Sunday!!! OCTOBER 22nd is National Nut Day! "Sometimes you feel like a nut!" "Sometimes you don't" Remember that Jingle? I drive a lot of miles, and I like to keep a "healthy" snack in the car so I don't get too hungry and make bad food decisions ( Chicago Style hot dogs with sport peppers, relish, a garlic dill, and celery salt are my kryptonite) So I keep within an arms reach a selection of Cashews, Almonds, Pistachios , and mixed nuts. October 21st is National Reptile Awareness Day! I saw a king snake on my Patio in June, yeah I heard they are friendly... I'd just rather snuggle up to one of my dogs. OCTOBER 20th is National Chicken and Waffles Day! I know I know people say don't knock it until you have tried it, but seriously there is nothing about it that makes me want to try it. I will just put it on the shelf with deep fried twinkies, Haggis, Rocky Mountain Oysters, Balut, Century Egg, Ha'Karl and others that I have no intention of ever trying. October 17th is National Pasta Day! What is your favorite pasta dish? I really like my mothers lasagna! My wife of 26 years use to do her own version with Ricotta cheese, but has since started to put in cottage cheese like my mother. very very tasty! When camping... My youngest daughter and I enjoy our own version of "Skilletti" We put cooked spaghetti noodles and sauce in a cast iron skillet over a camp fire and warm it up. October 15th is National I Love Lucy Day! I Love Lucy ran from October 15th 1951 thru May 6, 1957 180 episodes! While I am too young to have seen an original broadcast, I saw many of the reruns during my youth. Most were entertaining! :) One of the controversial parts of the show was showing a pregnant woman on TV. Times sure have changed :) Before the episode aired, the studios consulted with network sensors and religious organizations and the plan was to define Lucy as expecting , rather than being pregnant. October 14th is National Desert Day! My mother has a saying... "Life is short and uncertain, always start with desert!" When ever I am at a work function where there happens to be a buffet, Brunch, lunch or dinner. I always head for the desert table first. Today is National Farmer's Day! Where would we be without our Farmer's providing us with nutritious Fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat?
