Why is it that when you decide to write a blog nothing comes to mind, but when you are too busy to write multiple ideas flood in? Why is it that when you finally decide to give up on a listing, it receives multiple offers? Why is it that when you finally leave the house for that long overdue vacation your phone rings off the hook? This young lady closed on her very first home this week! As a first time home buyer, she had lots of questions. Many of these questions were simple ones that most longer term owners just take for granted. However, she had some great questions at the closing table. You see, she was actually reading over the documents placed in front of her. I can quarantee she understands what she signed better than most. Let's face it. We all have a friend or neighbor that is a Plumber, Doctor, Nurse, Attorney, or any of the other thousands of job holders that may have information the rest of us need. How often have you caught yourself calling a friend who is a Nurse and asking him/her about a fever or rash instead of going to the Doctors office? This is one of my favorite real estate responses, it depends. An agent will be asked a seemingly easy question to answer by their client, and they may very well respond, it depends. Do you know why? Well, you guessed it, it depends. Many questions asked in the normal course of events in real estate can have a slew of different answers depending upon the situation. So, you want to sell your home. You made an appointment with your agent and you are looking forward to your meeting. He/She gets to your home right on time. You walk through the house making small talk and then you all sit down to talk seriously about your home. This is where the conversations can go sideways if you are not careful. Has a question ever come up where you are to embarrassed to even ask? I am not thinking about the days when we were all 12 years old. Nope, I am speaking of the here and now. Several things have come up recently where I did not have a clue how to answer the question. Recently, I have my front yard re-sodded and the back yard re-seeded.
