questions: Why is it that... - 05/10/21 06:00 AM
Why is it that when you decide to write a blog nothing comes to mind, but when you are too busy to write multiple ideas flood in? Why is it that when you finally decide to give up on a listing, it receives multiple offers? Why is it that when you finally leave the house for that long overdue vacation your phone rings off the hook? And why is it that when you show a home to a buyer that has been on the market for months and decide to make an offer on it there are 27 other offers that … (4 comments)

questions: New Home Owner! - 02/20/20 04:39 AM
This young lady closed on her very first home this week! As a first time home buyer, she had lots of questions. Many of these questions were simple ones that most longer term owners just take for granted.
However, she had some great questions at the closing table. You see, she was actually reading over the documents placed in front of her. I can quarantee she understands what she signed better than most.
It also doesn't hurt that my client has a masters degree in Nuclear Engineering. I think she is used to asking questions.
If you are looking for your very first home, … (8 comments)

questions: Free Advice! - 11/14/19 04:28 AM
Let's face it. We all have a friend or neighbor that is a Plumber, Doctor, Nurse, Attorney, or any of the other thousands of job holders that may have information the rest of us need. How often have you caught yourself calling a friend who is a Nurse and asking him/her about a fever or rash instead of going to the Doctors office? Or checking with your CPA or Attorney friend about a question that you swear will only take a second for them to answer? Happens all the time.
It also happens in Real Estate. We agents get asked all the … (10 comments)

questions: It depends... - 03/12/19 10:46 AM
This is one of my favorite real estate responses, it depends. An agent will be asked a seemingly easy question to answer by their client, and they may very well respond, it depends. Do you know why? Well, you guessed it, it depends.
Many questions asked in the normal course of events in real estate can have a slew of different answers depending upon the situation. For instance, when a buyer asks, will the seller want to keep the window treatments? The answer depends on what is in the contract. If there is nothing in the contract, the agents will need to … (7 comments)

questions: Interesting Conversations with your Agent - 09/22/15 11:41 PM
So, you want to sell your home. You made an appointment with your agent and you are looking forward to your meeting. He/She gets to your home right on time. You walk through the house making small talk and then you all sit down to talk seriously about your home.
This is where the conversations can go sideways if you are not careful. From the agent's standpoint, we must listen and ask questions that make sense. From the seller's standpoint, they need to really understand the question before answering. Here's what happens if this "Meeting of the minds" does not happen.
Agent to seller."So, … (2 comments)

questions: Inquiring minds want to know... - 05/14/13 10:12 PM
Has a question ever come up where you are to embarrassed to even ask? I am not thinking about the days when we were all 12 years old. Nope, I am speaking of the here and now. Several things have come up recently where I did not have a clue how to answer the question.
Recently, I have my front yard re-sodded and the back yard re-seeded. The back yard had straw scattered over it to keep the seed from washing away and the birds from eating it. We had Inches of rain right after the seed was put down and … (3 comments)
