Tottenville is the Southern most location of Staten Island, New York City and New York State. Tottenville was named in 1869 after Gilbert Totten a local American Revolutionary War hero. The area of Tottenville is approximately 1.7 square miles. Tottenville is bound on the West side by Arthur Kill and on the East side by Raritan Bay which opens into the Atlantic Ocean. At the tip of Tottenville is the Conference House built in 1678 by the Billop family.
