Today when I came home from work I found on my door step a bright green flyer from the Tottenville Civic Association; Informing of a joint meeting with the Pleasant Plains and Richmond Valley Civic Association, next week. A 200 Store outlet to be considered for this area. The developer of the property will be giving a special presentation for the project. The area under consideration borders along the water of this area. I drive past this location almost everyday to work. Its my secret no traffic drive to the office. Tottenville is the Southern most location of Staten Island, New York City and New York State. Tottenville was named in 1869 after Gilbert Totten a local American Revolutionary War hero. The area of Tottenville is approximately 1.7 square miles. Tottenville is bound on the West side by Arthur Kill and on the East side by Raritan Bay which opens into the Atlantic Ocean. At the tip of Tottenville is the Conference House built in 1678 by the Billop family.
