We get so many questions from Buyers and Sellers about timing of the market. Let me tell you that this is a myth! No one can "time" a market, the market is what the market is! Sure there are factors that help set the market, consumer confidence, employment factors, interst rate, etc... But you should never try to "time" the market, it's just impossible to do. Well, here it is the end of another year. And what a year it's been! We've seen the highest gas prices ever and then a drastic plunge to 2003 levels as we cut back on our wasteful use of resources. Our Allen Eagles football team traveled to Houston December 20th and rallied past Fort Bend Hightower to capture the Texas 5A Division 1 state championship. We've seen the economy come to a complete halt in many areas of the counrty yet here in Dallas/Ft. This week's blog will be for those of you that actual like numbers, of which I am one. I was reviewing a set of reports: September's Collin County Statistics for Allen and a report that I've complied from the Multiple Listing Service for all activity in Allen for October 2008. In September the numbers reflected a market that was drifting along in wake of the financial market news. New Properties on the market were down over 26%, Closed Sales were down almost 20%, the Average Sales Price was down by about 3.3% with 89 Closed Sales, and there were 458 properties available in Allen. … (0 comments)
