A New Year means another 12 First Fridays lined up for your enjoyment in Santa Cruz County! For those who may not know, First Friday occurs on, you guessed it, the first friday of every month. This event is an excellent chance for locals and visitors alike to experience just some of the many great things that the Santa Cruz art scene has to offer. Celebrating the combination for art, wine, music and food, the Capitola Art & Wine Festival fills Capitola Village with thousands people indulging in some of life’s simple pleasures. This year on September 14 & 15, over 150 artist and 22 Santa Cruz Mountain wineries will display and share their gifts with locals and visitors alike. Santa Cruz is in a perfect location for access to a variety of fun activities. There's always something going on in the county itself, and there are also many great daytrip options in the surrounding areas. This weekend, artlovers can head down to the Capitola Village to check out local artists' work at the Art and Music at the Beach event. Since it began over seven years ago, First Fridays in Santa Cruz have had over eighty events for the public. First Fridays occur on the first friday of a given month, as the name suggests, and is a free event encompassing the whole city for the town to participate in.
