It is during the first three weekends of October, ranging from South to North County. Painters, jewelers, sculptors, stone carvers, and photographers open their creative studios for the public to explore. Driving around for the art crawl is a great way to discover the beauty of Santa Cruz County and you may find yourself on picturesque rural roads to studios that you never knew existed.

The Santa Cruz County Fair kicked off this Tuesday, and runs until the 18th. Locals can enter their crafts, recipes and more in contests for ribbons, and visitors can enjoy such events as horse shows and dirt track car racing at the Ocean Speedway. The fair takes place at Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds in Watsonville, off Highway 152. Adult tickets are $10 each, and kids' tickets are $5, and parking is $5. Come out and see all the great products of the County!

The 25th annual Open Studios Art Tour of Santa Cruz County takes place the first three weekends of October. Every year local artists open their studios and invite the public to engage with their art work. This celebration of the many amazing and talented artists here in Santa Cruz County showcases a variety of art works ranging from glasswork, painting to woodwork and jewelry crafting. The tour has there something for everyone. A preview reception with be hosted at the Santa Cruz Art League on September 26th, so visitors can check out different artist and plan their own art adventure. … (0 comments)
