This Saturday marks the return of the Santa Cruz Mountain Winegrowers Association Passport Days. The annual celebrations originally started in 1993 (meaning the event is in its 25th year!) by winegrowers of the Santa Cruz Mountains. 
During this beloved weekend those with a passport in hand will have access to unique events at more than 50 Santa Cruz Mountain area wineries. What!??! That's right - participating locations will host tastings, live music, food samples and more. Locations that are normally closed to the public are open and others are open to passport holders only offering a truly VIP experience. This Saturday the 19th of July, the Winegrowers of the Santa Cruz Mountains will once again be having their passport days. Passport days were created in order to celebrate the rich history of the wingrowers, vintners and families that make up the winegrowing tradition in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This years July celebration will feature the Silver Mountain Vineyards location in the Santa Cruz Mountains as well as their West Side location in Santa Cruz at the Surf City tasting room.

The Alfaro Winery located in Corralitos California is proud to host a wine tasting event and dinner at the Ma Maison retstaurant in Aptos on June 2. The event is featuring a pre-dinner tasting of the 2010 Alfaro Rose' Pinot Noir, and 2009 Alfaro "Lester Family Vineyards" Pinot Noir.  They encourage attendees to bring a bottle of your favorite Santa Cruz mountain pinot noir to share, or wines are available for purchase there from their extensive wine list.  The events menu is as follows:

 The Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association is gearing up for Passport Day to start up again next Saturday, November 20th. Passport Day incorporates all of the wineries of Santa Cruz county in hosting patrons to taste wines and view the vineyards. With the purchase of a passport, patrons can view the vineyards in different stages of growth, harvest, and fermentation as well as taste rare varieties that may otherwise unavailable.
