Market Focus: It’s a pretty busy week encompassing a wide array of reports all wrapped around lots of Fed Speak and the real start of earnings this week. Price reports, housing reports, and the Beige book are just some of what we get. Look for the fireworks at the end of the week as this consumer sentiment report is the first after the Fiscal Cliff failure. Keep your eyes on Bank earnings as Wells Fargo started this off last week with a drop in their stock.

right side up: The Week Ahead...What Wholesale and International Trade mean to you! - 01/05/13 11:20 PM
Market Focus: It is a light week in the way of reports but The Bank of England and the ECB will weigh in with interest rate decisions on Thursday. Was last weeks run up just a knee jerk reaction or the real deal? I personally believe it was almost a relief rally before we worry again about the debt ceiling. Look for more volatility.

Market Focus: Sorry to sound repetitive but Fiscal Cliff! Watch all weekend to see if the Senate and it’s leaders can work out a compromise. right side up: What are we Underwriting today? - 12/28/12 09:28 PM
When I entered the mortgage business we looked at credit, income, assets and collateral. These were the four basics to doing a loan. We could look at credit and determine if the potential borrower showed the propensity to pay their bills. We could calculate if the income was enough to pay all of the bills associated with owning a home and we could easily see if there were any reserves in the event of an emergency. “It was a Wonderful Life”. This was not that long ago. Contrary to my children’s thoughts there was electricity and dinosaurs had stopped roaming the … (0 comments)

right side up: What came First? Profits or Wages? - 12/05/12 09:14 AM
Trickledown theory my rear end. Cut taxes on corporations and the savings will flow to the workers? Seriously? Just look at recent history and stop answering the questions based on your parents’ politics.
In the most recent quarter corporate earnings were up 18.6% from a year ago. That means that the after tax profits were the highest percentage of GDP in our history. All the hoopla maybe overshadowed by the equally astounding report that wages have fallen to their lowest percentage of GDP.
I am a capitalist, so profits are good but not solely at the expense of workers. … (2 comments)

right side up: The Week Ahead...What CPI and PPI mean to you! - 11/11/12 08:21 AM
Market Focus: The Election is over so the “fiscal cliff” is the most important issue ahead. Watch for a continued clash between the President and the House to see what the market will do. Inflation signals should not be as much of a concern with the Fiscal Cliff looming.
