The Neighbourhood Ramsay Heights is located in the Riverbend area of Edmonton. It is bordered by the North Saskatchewan River Valley to the west, Terwillegar Drive and Whitemud Drive to the east, 40 Ave to the south and 51 Ave to the north. The neighbourhood is centered around James Ramsey Park. James Ramsey was an alderman and MLA and a retailing pioneer in Edmonton's history. He opened the first departmental store in Edmonton on the ground floor of the Tegler Building in 1911. The business was sold to the T. Eaton Company in 1928.
