To find out if your property or a property in an area you're thinking about buying is in a Flood Zone, check with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) at www.fema.gov before you make an offer on a new property or a piece of land. Just because an area didn't flood previously, doesn't mean it won't flood now or in the future. FEMA is always revising the flood zones. Sellers have a responsibility to
