education: Thankful for Sunsets and Enlightenment - 09/28/23 06:33 AM
It was a hot 98 degrees when the sun set as I left the Robson Ranch Clubhouse in Denton last night. Beyond the field with the setting sun were roadways before getting on I-35W that were lined with sunflowers. As a student at Olli University of North Texas, I attended "Witnesses to History: A Panel" discussion. The planned event was scheduled to feature three individuals who experienced JFK's assassination and its aftermath, firsthand. As it turned out, only one showed up; the other two were sick and very old. I was able to listen to Norman Grant, Jr., MD, who was … (12 comments)

education: Thankful for The Crowley Chamber Trio - 09/27/23 01:38 PM
Enrolling at the University of Dallas and graduating with a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management in December 2002, was just the beginning of my gratitude for its Staff, Faculty, and curriculums at this leading Catholic University's widely recognized school of higher education and excellence.
During the past several years, I have been invited to enjoy a private performance to experience an evening of creative fusion at the Spring and Fall Concert Series by The Crowley Chamber Trio of the University of Dallas. Monday's performance on September 25th, 2023, was an evening filled with musical creativity beyond imagination.  At the Museum of … (8 comments)

Tuesday is Choose Day - Choose to be Educated!
Texas REALTORS® Legal Hotline published an article by Traci Jackson, staff attorney on April 8, 2022 that is worth noting. Rumors have been floating around for a long time that "property investors are exempt from the requirement to provide a seller's disclsoure."
That is a mistaken belief! The truth is in regards to sellers disclosure for investors "there are no exceptions." Everyone who owns and sells property in the state of Texas, including sellers "who never lived in the property," are required to disclose what they know. Read "Property Code Section 5.008."

For the month of January 2023, members on ActiveRain were given the challenge hosted by Anna Banana Kruchten Phoenix Broker and her co-host Aura Alex to write about their best ways to market effectively in the the real estate market using methods leading to success.
The best way to effectively market in real estate that has proven to me to lead to success is to stay passionate about business and continue to assist potential and former clients by educating, informing, and being present to them for their benefit as a friendly profesional in this shifting market.
Marketing – During the month of December … (15 comments)

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

My heart is filled with gratitude for the core values my parents and teachers instilled in me when it comes to cultivating good habits, common courtesy, ethics, good manners, compassion, hard work, and loyalty.

"In a forest of a hundred thousand trees, no two leaves
are alike. And no two journeys along the same path are alike."
---Ralph Waldon Emerson

THE HARVARD BUSINESS REVIEW SPECIAL ISSUE dated November 8, 2022, "The New Rules of Networking" has good articles.  The Editors on page 2, paragraph one writes:
"BUILDING EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS is a requirement of good management and leadership. But research shows that during the pandemic people's professional and personal networks shrank by close to 16%." I decided to test whether or not the quality of networking improved or declined.
On the afternoon of November 9th, I signed up to hear a … (15 comments)

education: Denton County Education, Creation & Housing - 12/17/21 12:40 PM
Flower Mound is one of several cities in Denton County. Cultural diversity and landscaping are unique to each city but the education from the District is the same for all. Many people choose Denton County because of the school district, Lewisville, ISD. Many parents with special needs children, such as autism find that the educational curriculums are the best compared to other counties. Another place to get therapy in Denton, Tarrant, and Wise County is the Victory Therapy Center where horses step in to help children, adults, and Veterans in need of coping with anxiety and PTSD. It cost the Center … (12 comments)

"Step With Care and Great Tact, and Remember
that Life's a Great Balancing Act." ---Dr. Seuss

I popped into the Library at the University of Dallas after a lecture I attended  and was surprised to learn they celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday because  the National Education Association wanted a day to celebrate reading to encourage children to Read Across America, established on March 2, 1998, to coincide with the birthday of Dr. Seuss born in 1904. Today he would be 114 years old!

I picked up some books from my Flower Mound Library using my Library Card and I'll be reading some books in honor … (40 comments)

by Patricia Feager, 78/5/2018

Summer is a great time to discover nature at a pond. I came upon this one at Texas Woman's University in the gardens located in Denton, TX. On campus you can enjoy beautiful flowers, song birds, and the peaceful serenity at the pond.

Knowledge begins from the moment you are born. Everyday after that you begin to exercise your mind. Over time you grow up, become educated at school and may go on to higher education. As we age, we ventured farther, discovering many interesting people, places, things, and soaking up information. Texas Woman's University offers many unique opportunities to … (22 comments)

education: 12 Days of Thanks Giving - Day 4 - 11/15/17 07:37 AM
by Patricia Feager, 11/15/2017

I am thankful for my bed, clean sheets, pillows, and blankets. Growing up in Chicago meant going into the alley to get to the garage to go inside the family car. The alleys were filled with homeless people, but we called them bums. Although I was scared, thankfully, my father explained many bums were the byproduct of World War II (1939-1945). These were the people who didn't have jobs, a home, or anywhere else to go. So, they slept in the alleys, on the ground, in the gravel and dirt. Many of them also had addictions to alcohol. … (14 comments)

education: An Alternative to A New Year's Resolution - 12/29/16 08:31 AM

If you can't fly then run,

If you can't walk then crawl,
But whatever you do
You have to keep moving forward

Before making that New Year's resolution, consider an alternative. The problem I have with making New Year resolutions are forgetfulness, failure, and fate, that are beyond my control. In 2017, I'm going to move forward by focusing on 3 main goals. They are health, education, and welfare. You may follow my blueprint and if you remember this post about the same time next year, leave me a comment to let me know … (19 comments)

education: Blogging is Educational - Student Loans is Worrisome - 09/26/16 11:34 PM

What I like best about Blogging is the educational aspect. I read to learn, become informed, discover something new, or understand an issue from another person's point of view. Today I read a post written by Kathy Streib:
Why Do I Have To Stage My Home If Homes Are Selling? Kathy constantly writes good content and is supportive of others. But when someone isn't playing nice in the sandbox, she's quick to point it out. Respectfully, I love people like Kathy. In her post, Why Do I have to Stage My Home if Homes Are Selling, there were two main points that resonated … (6 comments)

education: The Univesity of Dallas - My Beacon of Light - 12/12/10 02:02 AM
The University of Dallas has always been a beacon of light for me where I gained inspiration, insight, wisdom, knowledge, and learning opportunities.
I began studying at the University of Dallas in 1998 and graduated in December 2002. The grounds at the University of Dallas are soaked up by simple beauty. A student can't appreciate learning indoors unless the source of their education has been built on good soil where it's well maintained, has campus sky for dreaming, soft lights and lanterns for evening strolls, a bell tower keeping time, benches and swings tucked under beautiful trees for rest and thinking and … (12 comments)
