flower mound: The Swiss Alps & That Feeling of Being Close to Heaven - 05/10/11 12:26 PM
May 10, 2011
Many of you have been following along on my blog about my recent trip to visit my daughter and her husband in Switzerland. Honestly, before these photos were taken, I didn't know if Id' ever see her again. But I did and the trip was amazing. These photos speak for themselves. There's no words I could say that can tell you what I was feeling. There are no pictures I can pluck out because I simply couldn't choose the best. This is a long post of pictures and I hope some of you will find it inspiring. We … (26 comments)

flower mound: Dream BIG Dreams - 05/05/11 11:59 AM
May 5, 2011
While talking about 2011 Goals back in January, someone said, "If you can have anything you want, and money was no object, what would it be and why?" I said, "All I want to do is see my daughter." You could hear a pin drop. I hadn't seen her in more than three years. Lo and behold, my dream became a reality when a wonderful human being from the Keller Williams office gave me her travel miles. I left on April 19 and came back on May 2. The cost of this trip for me: Time. What did … (33 comments)

flower mound: Whether the Weather Be.... - 04/17/11 08:40 PM
April 18, 2011
WHETHER THE WEATHER BE FINE
OR WHETHER THE WEATHER BE NOT
WHETHER THE WEATHER BE COLD
OR WHETHER THE WEATHER BE HOT
WE'LL WHETHER THE WEATHER
WHATEVER THE WEATHER
WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT

As agent, Stagers, Interior Decorators, Home Inspectors, Lenders, Buyers or Sellers, we'll whether the weather, whether the weather be fine, or whether the weather be not, Whether the weather be cold, or whether the weather be hot, we'll whether the weather, whatever the weather, whether we like it or not.

flower mound: Silent Saturday: An Alternative Stump Solution - 04/09/11 12:50 AM
April 9, 2011
Stump turned to stone! I found this one on campus at the Art Studio at the University of Dallas. I like the fact that the stump was recycled into something that is aesthetically pleasing with the landscape and it can now be used as a stool to sit and ponder.

April 3, 2011
This first rose in my garden bloomed today. I noticed it at 2:00 p.m.  It's the second gift I received for my birthday. I called it, The "Eye of the Rose."

flower mound: First Thoughts of the Day - 03/31/11 11:30 PM
April 1, 2011
It's 4 o'clock in the morning and I can finally hear myself think. All day long, I think of other people and their needs, wishes, desires; now it's my turn. The dishwasher has finally quit running and I just put away the dishes. The washing machine just started up and outside my window I hear the sound of the sprinkler system watering my garden. My teabag is seeping, I can almost taste my tea and honey. The sounds I hear all have something to do with water. I pause to rub my watery eyes.
"All is born of … (39 comments)

flower mound: YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE - 03/28/11 01:18 AM
March 28, 2011
As this Redbone Coon Dog knows, you can't please everyone. Please listen to Elvis Presley perform, "You Ain't Nothing But a Houndog." In the very end of the tape, he is being attacked by the media for his performance and his parting words were, "You can't please everyone."

flower mound: WELCOME HOME!!! - 03/20/11 05:43 AM
March 20, 2011
Wisteria
In Asia, wisteria is an emblem of gentleness and obedience. In Victorian days, it meant, "I cling to thee."
The ornate and aromatic Wisteria looks like it is tumbling out of the sky from Heaven.
Wisteria bears an abundance of hues that includes lavendar, pale purple, mauve, light blue, pinkish blue and white.
Here you see how the lavish luster of lavendar hues topples over the garden wall as if it is bursting with joy because Spring is here! It can finally BREATHE and I inhale it's fragrant aroma!
WELCOME HOME WISTERIA!!!

flower mound: First Week of Spring - Flower Mound, Texas - 03/19/11 06:02 AM
March 19, 2011
SAT: 83 degrees, SUN: 85 degrees, MON: 81, TUE: 85 degrees. Sunny weather in Flower Mound as we celebrate the first week of spring. I'm enjoying the Muscari, also known as the Grape Hyacinth in my backyard. Bird sightings have included the Carolina Wrens and the Tufted Timouse (both to fast to photo).

I spied two yellow swallow tail butterflies without my camera - UGH!

flower mound: Gasoline Savings - T or F - What do you Think? - 03/15/11 10:42 AM
 March 15, 2011
I received the following information in BOLD from another member. I don't know if the information is True or False, but if anyone on AR knows whether or not it's true, it might help all of us with fuel costs.
Patricia
I don't know what you guys are paying for gasoline.... but here in California we are paying up to $3.75 to $4.10 per gallon. My line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every gallon:

flower mound: Is Every Man A Puzzle? - 03/15/11 01:56 AM
March 15, 2011
The artist in this photo illustrates how much the human body is like a puzzle. Her art, the Puzzle Man was demonstrated at the Texas Storytelling Festival in Denton, Texas on March 12, 2011.

The only part of the Puzzle Man that was missing when the picture was taken was the man's brain. Through storytelling and audience participation, a noodle brain was created and added to the back of the head.
I always believed that the human body is one big puzzle and that we are all connected through our genes and the personal people that connect with us throughout our life. … (39 comments)

flower mound: A Lesson From the Hawks - 03/13/11 06:09 PM
March 13, 2011
I have no photos to share, just word pictures that began early this morning. While pulling out of my driveway, I looked up in the sky, and there, not far from my eyes, was a large and graceful hawk that hovered over my car. Immediately I felt an attachment to the bird that was soaring like a kite in the sky, but the bird was real, and it gave me a sense of being emotionally free. This was a beautiful thing to see as I saw it spread its impressive wings while it soared almost effortlessly.
I turned the corner, … (16 comments)

flower mound: Words for Wednesday March 9, 2011 - 03/08/11 09:51 PM
IT'S YOUR LIFE, TAKE CHARGE - KEEP YOUR NOSE OUT OF OTHER PEOPLE'S BUSINESS THAT DOESN'T CONCERN YOU

WHEN DEALING WITH OTHER PEOPLE'S PROBLEMS THAT DOES CONCERN YOU, LEARN TO READ BETWEEN THE LINES AND TRUST YOUR INSTINCT. ANIMAL INSTINCT IS USUALLY ALWAYS RIGHT!

BEWARE OF SNAKES ALONG THE WAY; REMAIN CALM AND SLOW TO ANGER

STAY STEADY; REMAIN CALM, SLOW IS GOOD, PROCEED WITH CAUTION...

SEEK REFUGE; FIND A BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS

YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING TO SQUAWK ABOUT; OR YOU CAN REMAIN SILENT - BE THE ODD DUCK - BE A BETTER PERSON

flower mound: Indulge In Your Imagination - It's Time to be Irish! - 03/08/11 02:59 AM
March 8, 2011
Through the ages, the Irish have had a wild and vivid imagination that has lifted many people's spirits - just look at all the people when they go to the Irish Pubs to celebrate St. Patty's Day or local taverns in general! Oh, da spirits are alive and well! Oh, da green beer is soooo good! 'Tis a great thing to celebrate with Irish because all life's toils and troubles seem to disappear and turn into the realms of fairies, leprechauns, dragons, and other mythic heroes. So now is the time to indulge your wild Irish imagination. The Irish believe that a  flight … (20 comments)

flower mound: Midnight Blue Sky Over Texas - 03/06/11 01:12 PM
March 6, 2011
The time was exactly 6:50 p.m. this evening when I had a head on on collision with the most beautiful Midnight Blue Sky over Texas. I call it luck! I parked my car as quickly as I could and grabby my trusty camera to show you what I'm talking about.
I stood there in the parking lot on Flower Mound Road or 3040 near Gerault and I felt as if I had been looking up at the deep blue sea but it was the sky looking down at me. I am driven to write about this Midnight Blue Sky over Texas … (26 comments)

flower mound: Cost vs. Benefit of The Bradford Pear Tree - 03/04/11 05:02 AM
March 4, 2011
The Bradford Pear Tree makes a showy spring entrance into this Flower Mound neighborhood community.

While beautiful to look at, it is not a native tree to Texas. When planting trees for landscaping on smaller lots, please check with your local nursery to find out the pros and cons of what grows best in your specific area. Trees should also grow in proportion to the house and the size of the lot.
One of the main pros for the Bradford Pear Tree is that it is resistant to sickness or blight; the con is that trees can … (11 comments)

flower mound: SPRING FEVER - 02/21/11 06:39 AM
February 21, 2011
Spring Fever has come to Flower Mound, TX. That means prospects for First Time Home Buyers or for people who have decided they want to spend their life together. Deciding on where two lovers want to live together is very important. Love is a journey. Love is patient. Love is kind. When two people are on the same path they usually share the same passion and that includes home making and perhaps starting a family.

Be the first to offer your services to the love birds who are seeking a home or a place to nest. Keep your eyes open. There … (16 comments)
