So, what’s so special about Texas? I asked myself this question back in March, 1997. With a job relocation there was little time for me to think about the history or the geography of Texas. My focus was on interviewing for a position, signing a job offer, putting my own home on the market, flying back to DFW Airport to spend a day finding temporary housing, contacting the moving company, telling my kids about the move and learning they had no intention to move to Texas, getting the car serviced, buying new tires, and juggling a (23 comments)
