patricia feager: WITH LOVE, STRAIGHT FROM MONACO - 05/19/11 12:32 PM
May 19, 2011
These photos were taken at the Oceanographic Museum, located at Avenue Saint Martin, 98000 Monaco which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Vegas Bob, when I saw this, I gasped - I thought of you. Therefore, these are coming to you straight from the heart, from the collection of Prince Albert, the Scientist whose cruises and research has provided the basis for modern oceanography. Because I know your time is valuable and precious, I'll only include a few photos of interest. I hope you find them to be of value and hope for your future research.

patricia feager: WOW! IT'S WILD WEDNESDAY - HOW UNIQUE IS THAT? - 05/17/11 10:57 PM
May 18, 2011
DO YOU BLEND IN?
I discovered these Blanketflowers growing along the roadside on 423 in Little Elm on Tuesday, May 17. Notice how well they blend in together. Do you find that you blend in too? These wildflowers are extremely tolerant of dry soil conditions and well suited for Texas climate. They bloom throughout the summer and make excellent cut flowers in floral arrangements. Typically, they bloom in June. They must be early bloomers!

OR ARE YOU UNIQUE?
Just as these wildflowers need a certain environment for maximum growth, people also need the right amount of sun and water to grow best too. … (45 comments)

patricia feager: Siena, Itay - City of Mystery and Contrast - 05/17/11 09:57 PM
Buongiorno,
This post features Siena, Italy, the former land of the Etruscaans, one of the oldest parts of Tuscany. The city is most famous for one of the most dangerous horse races in the world which is held on July 2 and August 16 every year.  The race occurs in the Piazza del Campo which looks like a live, outdoor theater. People will fill the square, balconies and windows and cheer with explosive enthusiasm. The plaza was packed with people on a beautiful day during the last week in April, 2011. The square appears to look like a giant concave shell with red brick … (10 comments)

patricia feager: ActiveRainPhotBloggerContest - The Tree of Life - 05/16/11 12:19 PM
May 16, 2011
A few weeks ago, I stood inside one of the oldest trees in Switzerland looking behind the natural, spring time curtain. This tree of life represents an awakening to growth, which develops slowly over time. It's an incredible tree located in Lucerne that has deep roots and many branches. Hidden in its undergrowth, are nests that have sheltered and cradled new life.
I am like a tree, a tree that has grown older and weather many a storm. I have roots deeply planted and I've cradles two babies in my arms. My oldest, is my daughter. When she went … (34 comments)

patricia feager: Attention To Detail - Built to Last - 05/15/11 02:17 AM
May 15, 2011

Attention to detail takes on a whole new meaning in front of this architectural wonder. To think, something this old can still look so good? This church was built at a time, in a place where the Architect had just as much power and influence as the church. This is no ordinary, cookie-cutter structure. The photo was taken in Italy a few weeks ago on Easter Sunday.

patricia feager: Pisa, Tuscany, Italy - The Piazza del Duomo, or the Cathedral Square & I was There! - 05/13/11 04:03 AM
May 13, 2011
This post is a continuation of my adventures in Europe which features the architectural wonders of Pisa,Tuscany, Italy, the Piazza del Duomo, i.e., location of the Leaning Tower of Pisa! This place is surreal! I couldn't believe that I was there, just because of a dream come true. When it comes to turning back the pages in time, who doesn't fall in love with horses? This is the Cathedral Square, which is highly regarded as one of the main centers for medieval art in the world.

The Cathedal Square, named for the fact that the Square is … (44 comments)

patricia feager: Snowy Owl - 05/11/11 11:54 PM
May 15, 2011
My daughter and I spotted this Snowy Owl on May 1, 2011 near some avalanches that had occurred previously in 2006 not far away from where she lives in Switzerland. I thought I was going to trip on my face when I saw this beautiful owl. Temperatures were in the high 70s. Global climate warming has taken an affect on the glaciers and I wonder how long it will take to make a signficant impact on animals, such as these. Will they still be there, long after I'm gone?
I was grateful for the opportunity to be with my daughter and to see a … (36 comments)

patricia feager: Italian Romance and Castles Too! - 05/11/11 11:41 AM
May 11, 2011
Ciao,
I would like to say that all good things begin in Italy, and that is where we ALL got our humble beginnings from, somewhere in Italy, a paradise, a romantic place like Tuscany where the sun is responsible for growing an abundance of olive gardens, vineyards, and just the right amount of tomatoes for making the best pasta or pizza in the world! Now I know, some of you may argue that pizza did not originate from Italy, but the truth is, I don't care and I don't want to hear about it. This is not a … (26 comments)

patricia feager: The Swiss Alps & That Feeling of Being Close to Heaven - 05/10/11 12:26 PM
May 10, 2011
Many of you have been following along on my blog about my recent trip to visit my daughter and her husband in Switzerland. Honestly, before these photos were taken, I didn't know if Id' ever see her again. But I did and the trip was amazing. These photos speak for themselves. There's no words I could say that can tell you what I was feeling. There are no pictures I can pluck out because I simply couldn't choose the best. This is a long post of pictures and I hope some of you will find it inspiring. We hiked … (26 comments)

patricia feager: Animals Lessons about People and Cultural Diversity - 05/09/11 06:30 AM
May 9, 2011
This is my 7th Post about my trip to Switzerland. I've discovered that we can learn a lot about different cultures and about the world we live in through animals. Animals are Swiss-Tastic! In this first photo I was introduced to my daughter's cat Sebago. He is a BIG guy and he measures nearly four feet when stretched from nose to tail. He looked a little shocked to meet me --- what do you think that means??? Okay, okay, I admit, it was a L-O-N-G flight, multiple connections and a train ride too, I didn't get any sleep the night … (20 comments)

patricia feager: The Swiss Chicken That Almost Got Away - 05/08/11 02:06 AM
May 8, 2011
Deep in the mountains by a lake in Switzerland I ran across Brown Bears. Luckily they paid no attention to me. This bear was more interested in the Chicken that Ran Away. Obviously, he didn't get very far, but the bear was quite entertaining. I stood and watched the cycle of life in action. This is my sixth post about my recent trip to Switzerland, Italy, France and Monoco.
Sometimes it's better to do nothing but step back and watch. Here's an example that illustrates, "It's not about me." How often do we take things personally? This was a … (31 comments)

patricia feager: Swiss Alpine Horns - 05/07/11 10:15 AM
May 7, 2011
This is my fifth post about my dream vacation to Switzerland. I decided to feature the Swiss Alpine Horns. They are quite unusual. The first time I heard the Alpine Horns was on the train after I left the arrival gate at the Zurich Airport. When the train stops you can hear the horns blow - but I didn't know that at the time. The cows moo and their bells ring, which of course I recognized.  Because these sounds were recordings, I didn't understand or know that these were the sounds that make up the culture of Switzerland. … (24 comments)

patricia feager: Switzerland; Roads Less Traveled - 05/06/11 04:53 PM
May 6, 2011
Switzerland is a setting where fairytales and romance can surely happen. As I traveled down the streets and roads less traveled, I could smell the winter barns, the ancient forest and spring flowers in full bloom. Mount Pilatus rises abruptly behind my daughter's house and nonchalantly beckons you to come walk the trails, see the countryside, breathe the fresh air and make new discoveries.  I wandered the streets and country roads, mountain passes too, listening to unfamiliar sounds and seeing sights of wonder, things of beauty that were unimaginable. Things I saw made me smile and feel warm inside … (14 comments)

patricia feager: Dream BIG Dreams - 05/05/11 11:59 AM
May 5, 2011
While talking about 2011 Goals back in January, someone said, "If you can have anything you want, and money was no object, what would it be and why?" I said, "All I want to do is see my daughter." You could hear a pin drop. I hadn't seen her in more than three years. Lo and behold, my dream became a reality when a wonderful human being from the Keller Williams office gave me her travel miles. I left on April 19 and came back on May 2. The cost of this trip for me: Time. What did … (33 comments)

patricia feager: The Power of Flowers From Switzerland - 05/04/11 10:44 AM
May 4, 2011
Feel the power of flowers from Switzerland. This is the first post of the many flowers I wanted to share with you from my recent trip. I am saving the most exotic ones that I discovered in the Alps for another post. Although there are many, this is just a sample of some of the types of flowers I found. There will be more to come.
My love for flowers began when I was a child. I was born during the early months of spring and coincidently took my first steps amongst the sunlit fields in nearby parks. … (32 comments)

patricia feager: A Special Kind of Love - 05/03/11 01:26 PM

Thank God for Little Girls!
Thank God for little girls who grow up into becoming a beautiful woman who marries a man who whisks her away to live in Switzerland - The land of storybook creations and castles! Ah... I'm so proud to be her mother and so appreciative that I got to visit her because of a Random Act of Kindness from another Realtor® who so graciously gave me her International Travel Miles. My trip began on April 19 and ended on May 2, 2011. I traveled to Switzerland, Italy, France and Monocco. It has been more than three … (43 comments)

patricia feager: Think Green! - 04/15/11 04:05 AM
April 15, 2011

This little guy found in my Flower Mound garden is hungry for green. How about you?
Description
How would you describe him? Do you notice he seems to have a BIG smile on his face? He isn't drooling or looking desperate. Do you see his bright eyes? He is clearly staying focused. Have you noticed that he is climbing upwards and not backwards? Although I'm sure he can move backwards, he chooses to move upward and onward, isn't he? Do you think he's hanging on...or not? Or do you see him making choices? His feet are slow and steady; yet … (38 comments)

patricia feager: 2011 Hill Visit at the Capitol - 04/14/11 02:01 AM
April 14, 2011
Approximately 2,000 REALTORS® stormed the Hill on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in Austin at the State Capitol. I was honored to join my fellow Texas REALTORS® for a day at the Capitol and advocate for legislation that will benefit your business and property owners. As we stood at the floor, we were able to meet with our constituents or their personal assistants and had opportunity to speak with one voice over issues impacting our business. The architectural beauty at the State Capitol in Texas can not be denied.
We look up to our legislators to make good decisions for the … (9 comments)

patricia feager: Color Has A Purpose - 04/13/11 06:24 AM
April 14, 2011
Color has a purpose in the natural world and what better place to start than in a garden? Its purpose is to attract, repel, conceal and brighten up a landscape. Shades of light; shades of dark, all make a garden beautiful. All colors have a purpose.

Choose color with a purpose. Colors with intensity are often perceived as royalty in years past and they are now available to all. In the natural world, color doesn't matter - it's the value it brings to those who need it that really matters.

When light falls on the petals … (28 comments)
