NEW CONSTRUCTION
As the trend of low inventory and choice selections of older homes continues in Flower Mound, buyers may want to consider new construction. Buying new is a completely different process than buying pre-existing homes. There are advantages and disadvantages. Some things to consider include:

DRAGONFLY
I captured the beauty of a blue dragonfly in Dallas on Sunday afternoon, 10/8/2017. His head looks like a marble, don't you think? They say a dragonfly has the eyes of a predator with 30,000 lenses. A dragonfly can see in every direction simultaneously. They are focused on watching prey as it flies in their scope of vision. Even more incredible, it eats food equal to its own body weight in about a half hour. It's prey rarely, if ever escapes. Once trapped, it is eaten.

Fire Prevention week started in 1922 when the commemoration for the Great Chicago Fire began long after the devastation from the Great Chicago Fire on 10/8 through 10/10 in 1871. It was followed by President Calvin Coolidge's proclamation for the first National Fire Prevention Week on October 4-10, 1925. At the time of the Chicago Fire, it was a City built of wood, from the houses, to the sidewalks, fences, and roofs were not like they are today. The theme for Halloween at the Dallas Arboretum is The Wizard of Oz. Membership for the Arboretum is a worthwhile investment for people of all ages and guests (limited numbers) are included. Fall flowers are a favorite of mine. When I get up in the moring and see the sun shining it makes me smile. If you look deeply into the center of a flower you can almost feel a spiritual connection, I know I do. Have you ever pulled the petals off a flower and said, "He loves me, he loves me not?" Why do people do that? To rip apart the petals off a flower breaks harmony with nature.

I had fun at the Pumpkin Patch taking photos and meandering through the field of dreamy pumpkins. Families can hop on board the wagon for a nice hayride through the patch too! For kids with lots of energy, they can bounce around in the bounce houses too.

I don't know if these bees and the moth and/or butterfly flew in as a result of Hurricane Harvey, but I've never seen anything like it before, have you? They showed up in my Flower Mound, TX garden this afternoon uninvited! There was enough Lantana growing to keep them satisfied so I wasn't at all worried about getting stung. They appeared very, very hungry, too!

In addition to the National news I have spent quite a bit of time at doctor appointments and taking care of business. Like current events and business, there's always something to learn. Dragonflies are fascinating creatures. They may start their day out slowly basking in the sun but once they get going, they can put on quite a show. Without a cup of coffee, could it be these aquatic flying insects are getting energized by the sun before spending the rest of their day flying in mid air, hovering over the surface of a body of water, zipping from one place to another to collect food? What I like best about this flower is it's color, texture and movement. Color is a means of expression. The texture feels welcoming, taking on the appearance of a beautiful sunset, associated with ocean beachfront. The color yellow reminds me of the sun and how it changes color during the setting of the sun, a reminder that rest is important and necessary. Like little children, we don't want to be told to go to sleep. Let there be light!!!

This is the story of the man whose wife ran away with another man and left her belongings behind. The man kept hoping, she'd come back, but she never did.
