rent: Pondering From Across the Pond - 08/06/22 07:48 AM

A good old friend is a friend indeed! I had the good fortune of meeting up with a dear friend of mine who I met shortly after moving to Texas more than 25 years ago. She suggested "From Across the Pond," in Colleyville, Texas and WOW! It was worth it! The history about the quaint little restaurant is quite fascinating and the service is outstanding. Our waitress was punctilious! The history about "From Across the Pond," was interesting too:

"Welcome to "From Across the Pond", an authentic British/Texan "Mum … (21 comments)

MOTIVATION

What does it take to get inspired and yet it doesn't cost you anything, except your time to look and see? What makes people motivated to buy? Watching shows like HGTV? Looking for homes listed on the MLS? Relocation? Being closer to family and friends? Or perhaps, seeing new homes go up for sale in your neighborhood? Buyers, did you know it may … (10 comments)

rent: I Will Never Rent Again - Here's Why - 06/16/18 08:36 AM

June is National Home Ownership Month. As a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, I am being encouraged to educate the public. While there are many reasons why one prefers to rent over buying a home, all it takes is experience to help you decide what's best for you. Everyone has their own life experiences. Some are good and some not so good. Here are some reasons I prefer to own rather than rent.

A Landlord may have more control over my budget than their Tenant.

A Landlord may increase rent.

A Landlord may have reasons to get inside.

Oh Nuts!

Grey Skies Again!!!

Do you believe in signs? Imagine for a moment you're a bird. You never really have a home. All you do is hang out, fly around, look for food. This is your ritual! A bird never hesitates to pay attention to its surroundings. Its goal is to survive! If the bird never moves, its destiny is unknown! Sometimes obvious! So the bird keeps a look out! It knows when to sit still and when to soar! The bird looks to the sky for signals. It trusts its insticts! With careful watch it knows when to go.

rent: LIFE IS GOOD WHEN THINGS SEEM BRIGHTER - 06/02/12 07:48 PM
Spring is looking brighter in Texas!
I'm finding that the weight of the monthly mortgage bill is substantially lighter than rent in Flower Mound and it's cheaper to buy than rent where the cheapest to rent averages around $1,450 - $1,850 per month and in more affluent neighborhoods with Home Owner Association Amenities (Pools, Club House, Tennis Courts, etc.) you could expect to pay on average $2,500 - $3,500 or more per month.
For Home Purchases, showings have been steady and houses are moving from Pending to Sold quickly. In homes between $150,000 - $350,000 showings have averaged about 500 showings every two weeks and from the $350,000 - $500,000 … (22 comments)
