WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND?
This photo was taken on December 6, 2023 in Mineola, TX. I checked my photos stored on my phone to see what pictures needed to be deleted but I felt reluctant to let it go.  By now, more leaves would have dropped but today it is captured in a photograph to last forever, or for however long I won't let go. Isn't it funny how people are like trees. They get planted somewhere! Perhaps by a a body of water or maybe nowhere special. But to look at it, wherever it is planted tells a story. Even when … (20 comments)

seniors: Thursday is for being Thankful for being Humbled - 10/12/23 06:45 AM
During the late 1980's, I was humbled. Getting married, having children, and becoming a widow was not my all American Dream. I grieved, but only after dark when the kids were fast asleep. Letting go is very hard. He wasn't supposed to die so quickly. We should have, but did not have life insurance. For the first five years, I could not let go and leave my kids alone during summer months while I had to work. Being a stay-at-home mom to becoming the breadwinner without a job was like tossing me into an open fire in the woods, far, far … (33 comments)

seniors: Real Estate Sales & Seniors - 07/16/22 02:44 AM
HAVE A HEART
It takes a special Agent to help a senior move. The emotional impact may be greater than expected but a trained Agent who earned their SRES, the Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation can make a difference. Agents awarded by the SRES Council to REALTORS have successfully completed coursework on the real estate needs of home buyers age 50+ community.
Going to the movies is a nostalgic past time of many seniors. As a REALTOR® with a SRES designation, who also loves old movies and helping seniors, I tied some quotes with life experiences.
What the Sales Agent may say to … (9 comments)

seniors: When Selling A Home Influences Price - 08/25/21 12:50 AM
Is now a good time to sell? Timing is important, but it influences your home's selling price. Let's see if I can make timing working for you.

Is it a buyer's market or a seller's market? When there are more people looking for homes to buy but not enough homes for sale, it is a 'seller's market' because the seller's house is in more in demand. However, when there are more houses for sale than buyers available to buy, this is called a 'buyer's market' and buyers have more houses to choose and a stronger ability to negotiate price.

Is it better to list … (16 comments)

seniors: County Commissioners Freeze SR Taxes in Flower Mound - 06/06/19 11:48 AM

GOOD NEWS FOR SENIORS & PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
WHO PAY PROPERTY TAXES IN FLOWER MOUND

Announced by the News from Lewisville, Flower Mound and Lewisville ISD
Effective immediately on May 14, 2019, a property tax limitation for seniors and people with disabilities was approved by the Denton County Commissioner. This allows those who qualify to seek tax limitations on their property to create a tax ceiling. In plain English, in the following year, if property values were to increase, the ceiling of current property taxes would be set to the lower amount of the two calculations.

The good news is the individual homeowner would not … (5 comments)

"Family life is the backbone of mankind, and that life is

I was inspired by this landscape scene on an old country road in Texas on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Thus, the composition for this blog post. Have you thought about family members, neighbors, friends, particularly seniors who may be alone? I call them the … (28 comments)
