I am thankful for the sense of smell. If you played Trivia with Wayne Martin on 11/10/2023, you would have learned that smell is closely related to memory. That was the day I had the inspiration to write this post. To smell is a great gift. thankful: Thursday is for being Thankful for being Humbled

During the late 1980's, I was humbled. Getting married, having children, and becoming a widow was not my all American Dream. I grieved, but only after dark when the kids were fast asleep. Letting go is very hard. He wasn't supposed to die so quickly. We should have, but did not have life insurance. For the first five years, I could not let go and leave my kids alone during summer months while I had to work. Today is Motivational Monday. Every now and then, I need to be reminded that the treasures here on earth are not the things made by humans that I own, or wish I had, but the real people in my life who have given me love and appreciation. Thursday is only one of 7 days of the week I give thanks. In this previous photo stand two very important people who I served in my real estate business since the beginning of my career. Between buying, selling, flipping houses, renting, and referrals I must have had at least 30 to 40 or more closings. Not only were we friends to the end of their dabbling in their real estate journey to build wealth, we are still friends. They are now comfortably retired. Our communication lines remain open.

There are many things I am grateful for, but if I had to bundle my favorites inside a box with a pretty ribbon and top it with a bow, this is what you would find. Thinking about Thanksgiving Day raises awareness about gratitude. We know there is a lot to be thankful for year-round; however, when the day is set aside as a National Holiday it extends appreciation to others in special ways that ordinarily might have been taken for granted.
