veterans day: November is a Good Month to Make A Difference - 11/06/21 12:35 PM
PONDER THIS… Veteran’s Day, also historically known as Armistice Day is commemorated on November 11th, as the cessation of hostilities in WW1 which went into effect 103 years ago on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in the year 1918.
On November 11th of each year, we honor all American Veterans of all wars for their sacrifices, patriotism, and willingness to serve for the greater good. A soldier knows there is no greater sacrifice than to lay down your life for another because that is what love of country means.
“Honor to the soldier and sailor … (35 comments)

veterans day: REMEMBRANCE - 11/05/21 08:29 AM
REMEMBER
FREEDOM HAS A PRICE
...A POPPY, IN TRIBUTE TO ALL BRAVE VETERANS
WHO RISKED THEIR LIVES
IN PAST AND PRESENT,
SO WE MIGHT HAVE A FUTURE

Growing up as a kid, it wasn't unusual for my grandfather to wear his WW1 uniform and my father to wear his Navy Hat from WWII and sit me down at the table to tell me how important Veterans Day was on November 11th. As my father talked, I did not look him in the eye but I stared at his tattoos he wore proudly on each arm with those big Navy Ships tattooed with the words US Navy and … (17 comments)

The month of May is fast approaching. Soon people will be celebrating Memorial Day. American pride will be seen from sea to shining sea. I spotted this vintage car in traffic and I just had to stop the car and take a photo (plus add the flag and words American Pride). There's something about being a classic that makes me feel proud to be an American. Many cities will be celebrating the holiday and giving homage to our American Veterans. Honoring our heroes is an American tradition. Let's provide unwavering support during the patriotic days in our local communities. Summer … (13 comments)

veterans day: November is a Month for Giving Thanks - 10/31/13 03:08 PM

November is the month for giving thanks. I begin my post to wish all the people who are celebrating a birthday this month a warm and Happy Birthday! Many November babies have already experienced the first signs of Autumn. For those in southern climates, like Texas, the red, gold, and other brilliant colors of the foliage are just beginning while others in Utah and other Northern States have already experienced snow. May you all enjoy your special day and find meaningful ways to celebrate life. You came into this world filled with a whimper; you learned how to crawl, walk, talk, … (20 comments)

veterans day: In Remembrance of Veteran's Day - 2012 - 11/10/12 06:43 PM

My collection of Veteran’s Day memories stretches as far and wide as white picket fences that once stretched across many parts of America.

Clearly, I have many memories of celebrating Veteran’s Day. For example, the face of my father’s father is clearly painted in my mind. It’s the image of an old silver haired man, smoking a corn cob pipe, wearing a straw hat on the top of his head. He’s still wearing a poppy in the pocket of his white starched shirt. His baggy trousers are blowing in the wind, just like the American Flag. On top of … (36 comments)
