If you need to buy school supplies now is your chance!  This weekend is the annual tax free weekend for back to school supplies.No this doesn't mean you can consider a 60" flat screen TV as a school supply.The rules and guidelines are school supplies with a cost under $20 and clothing or footwear with a cost of under $100 per item.Here are the full guidelines for the Virginia Tax Exempt Weekend.

virginia tax exempt holidays: Don't Forget Virginia Energy Star Weekend Starts TODAY - 10/09/09 01:08 AM
If you've been looking to upgrade your appliances (to be more energy-efficient), here is some great news for you.
This coming weekend in Virginia, Energy Star Appliances and WaterSense Qualified products will be exempt from Virginia Sales Tac. Products must be for non-commerical use and cost less than $2500.
Per the Virginia Department of Tax Site:"The exempt Energy Star items include dishwashers, clothes washers, refrigerators, air conditioners, ceiling fans, compact fluorescent light bulbs, and programmable thermostats that carry the Energy Star designation."
This is a great opportunity to upgrade your appliances and save a few dollars in the process.
