Summer is finally here, bringing more hot days and hopefully cool nights. Now that the Community Pool is open, that takes care of the hot days, but the cool nights need something to do as well, and this fits the bill. The Wallingford Twilight Tunes Concert Series is set to kick off on July 5th and every Wednesday night through August 16th, bringing some of the area’s best musical acts to Wallingford. What better way to handle those three events than by taking a cooling dip in the community pool? Wallingford’s Community Pool will open on June 17th until August 13th and will be open from 11am to 7pm each day. Pool passes for adults are $20, $15 for youths between 13 and 17, and $10 for children 12 and under and also for seniors 63 and older. Also, non-residents can once again get pool passes this year. Everybody loves it when the carnival comes to town! Once again, Wallingford's Church of the Resurrection is sponsoring their annual carnival April 27th through the 30th in the parking lot adjacent to the church. The weather forecast for the four day event is for rain on Wednesday morning followed by bright sunshine in the afternoon, partly cloudy on Thursday, mostly sunny on Friday, and mostly cloudy for Saturday, with temps ranging from 61 to 70 degrees. Wallingford's Church of the Resurrection Carnival Wants a Do-Over We all know how uncooperative the weather can be in April, and because of it the Church of the resurrection carnival was forced to cancel the opening day of festivities and saw a marked drop in attendance for the other three days. Because of this, the carnival organizers are going to try keep the carnival in town this week and open it up again on Friday and Saturday, May 1st and 2nd, to let visitors have another opportunity to enjoy the festival in some more hospitable weather.
