Wow, is time passing fast in the last two months of the year! It seems like just yesterday that we were eating turkey in every conceivable form and now here it is almost a full week deep into December! And that feeling is in the air, too; there was frost on the car windows this morning, the temps are barely making it out of the 30's even when it's sunny, and the sky takes on that battleship gray tone that says it could snow any minute.

Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny day in Wallingford for most of us. However, for 22 of our fellow residents, the day was far from pleasant. A fire at a three family home on South Whittlesey Avenue which started just before 8AM Friday morning caused extensive damage to the third floor and the residents of all three apartments are now without a place to stay and have lost much, if not all, of their belongings.

Where does the time go?? It seems like just yesterday it was Summer and we were basking in the warmth of the long days, and Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed a long way off. Now here it is November, Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and Christmas is so close you can taste it. In fact, it’s 39 shopping days close, if that brings it into closer focus for ya! As many of you may know, Pat is heavily involved with the Connecticut chapter of Make-A-Wish. In fact, she just finished up what is being called the biggest wish ever granted in the state, a Walk For Wishes event held at Bridgeport’s Beardsley Zoo, which was an overwhelming success.
